SUMMER ANNUAL FORAGE SEEDS Whether your goal is grazing, baleage, haylage or dry hay, we have a highly productive

summer annual to fit your needs!

HAYLAGE, BALEAGE, GRAZING AS6402 SORGHUM SUDAN- Leafy dwarf SSX with great re-growth. Tolerates shorter grazing.

AS6401 SORGHUM SUDAN– The most disease tolerant for wetter areas.

AS6501 SORGHUM SUDAN– No heading until day length is shorter than 12 hrs. Photo period sensitive.

AS6201 SORGHUM SUDAN– The fastest starting SSX for late season planting.

SWEET SIX SORGHUM SUDAN– The fastest drying SSX. Dry stalk characteristic.

HAYLAGE, BALEAGE, GRAZING, DRY HAY AS9301 SUDANGRASS- Thin, easy dry stalks for dry hay production.

AS9302 SUDANGRASS- Thin, easy dry stalks for dry hay production. Dwarf structure.

HAYKING SUDANGRASS– BMR Gene 12. High yield with lower digestibility than 9301 or 9302.

MOXIE TEFF– Great for dry horse hay. Coated with Yellow Jacket for improved establishment.

EXCEED BMR MILLET– Dwarf, Brown Mid Rib millet with improved digestibility. Great re-growth.

WONDERLEAF MILLET– Leafy forage millet that is well proven in the east.

MOJO CRABGRASS– An improved forage crabgrass coated with Yellow Jacket for improved establishment.

DIRECT CHOP SILAGE AF7101 FORAGE SORGHUM– An early season forage sorghum with good standibility and dry down.

AF7201 FORAGE SORGHUM - A shorter-mid season hybrid with very good standability and dry-down.

Very sweet stalks. A good choice for seeding with corn.

AF7401 FORAGE SORGHUM- A brachytic dwarf forage sorghum with superior standability and great nu-

trition. This hybrid is a full season product and is best used south of the Mason-Dixon line.

SILO PRO FORAGE SORGHUM– A full season brachytic dwarf that is slightly shorter in maturity than 7401.

grazing in Northwest GA. Most of

our Sudangrass, Sorghum Sudan and

Forage Sorghum are BMR Gene 6. Dry Teff Hay

DIVERSE MIXTURES FOR GRAZING

RAY’S CRAZY MIX– A 7-way blend of forage & cover crop seeds. Improve soil health while producing forage.

SUMMER FEAST MIXTURE– Mixture of Wonderleaf Hybrid Pearl Millet and T-Raptor Brassica.

SUMMER COVER CROP SEEDS If your goals include increasing soil productivity, then maybe a summer cover crop is right for

you. Most of these can double as forages. Consult your dealer for the best fit for you.

IRON CLAY COWPEAS– Summer annual legume with good forage quality. Forage or cover crop.

SUNN HEMP– Summer annual legume best for cover cropping only.

BUCKWHEAT– True “smother crop”. Grows a quick canopy in the summer to outcompete weeds.

NON BMR SORGHUM SUDAN– Low cost, fast establishing cover crop.

DAIKON RADISHES– Deep taproot penetrates soil, improves tilth and scavenges nutrients.

MASTERGRAZE & COWPEAS– As a 60 day BMR tillering corn, Mastergraze complements the growth of the

cowpeas very well as a summer annual legume.

CUSTOM MIXTURES– Make the mix of your choice using any of the components available.

BRASSICAS– We have multiple brassicas that are great for summer grazing; T-Raptor, Appin, Barkant, Pur-

ple Top and Barsica. Pictured right is a T-Raptor Hybrid Brassica. It is a bulb-less brassica that tolerates grazing

well.

HERE’S WHAT THEY SAY “The drought tolerance and yield potential of 7401 Forage Sorghum will amaze you.”

- Daniel Austin, Rocky Mount, VA

“We were very well pleased with the Alta Seeds Brachytic Dwarf Forage Sorghum; it helped stretch our hay

and corn silage through the fall. We used it mainly for our heifers and dry cows. It yielded well, I was im-

pressed with it, and definitely will plant it again.”

-Alan Frantz, Waynesboro, PA

“2012 was a dry year and both AS 9301 and Hayking Sudangrasses grew back really well - thicker and with

more tillering after cutting than the sorghum-sudans. They do better when conditions are on the drier side

rather than too wet. Both did well next to competitor sudangrasses.”

- Mahlon King, Lancaster, PA

“The cows know the sorghum (7401) and milk increase is expected when we start feeding it”

- Greyrock Farms & Dairy Herdsman, Moore, SC

MASTERS CHOICE CORN

Join the growing number of dairymen that are experiencing the benefits of Masters Choice hybrids. Masters Choice performs both

agronomically and nutritionally. Feed First™ to Avoid the Fall

Slump in 2015! Hybrids available from 83-118 day in conventional,

traited and organic.

“Even on different soil types the Masters Choice performed very well

with high yields. This year over 500 of our 1500 acres of silage corn will

be Masters Choice. We are very happy with our decision to plant Mas-

ters Choice.”

- Luke Huysman, Fabius, NY

“We were running short on corn silage in the fall. To make our silage stretch we began blending MC 6581

that had only been fermented for 8 days. We soon switched completely to the fresh MC 6581 and the cows

never missed a beat in production.”

- Jeff Fritz, Fritz Farm, LLC, New Windsor, MD

“I have never seen a corn (MC 4050) this short in season with such a big, girthy ear.”

- Ed Martin, MerriMart Farms, Loysville, PA

“As the cows transitioned into the MCT 6583, they saw in increase in milk production by ~3lb/head. Every-

thing else was constant in the ration; the only change was the substitution of the MCT 6583. In addition to

the increase in milk, the cows cleaned up the MCT 6583, which greatly reduced the amount of cleanout in

the trough.”

- Smith MW Farms, Newport, PA
