Alberta Culture Days is a province wide celebration of arts, culture and heritage. The community is celebrating with a series of events that include authors, aboriginal and agricultural heritage, all genres of art, and creative small business. Interactive activities will be happening at the Stony Plain Public Library, Stony Plain & Parkland Pioneer Museum, Multicultural Heritage Centre and in our Historic Downtown.

The museum’s 6000+ artifacts each have their own story to tell about courageous, enterprising, and independent pioneers who forged a future from a fist of will.

Of the 17 buildings on site, 10 are historic, including a 105-year-old log house which has been restored as The Tea House. Stay for the day and experience all of the nooks and crannies then enjoy homemade lunch including a dessert that’ll knock your socks off.

Homesteading in a demanding land: that spirit is reflected in the Multicultural Heritage Centre. The centre is comprised of a 1920s era brick schoolhouse that features a museum, a public art gallery, historical archives and the Homesteaders’ Kitchen – famous for its delicious, home-made pies.

Also on-site is the Oppertshauser House (1910). An operating general store complete with old-fashioned candy, vintage toys, jewellery, local art and crafts and Stony Plain souvenirs.
