Missy Brewer Carruth, Class of 1996 Missy Brewer Carruth was Parklane’s first winner of the prestigious Don Souder Award in 1996 and now she becomes one of the first women elected into Parklane’s Sports Hall of Fame. Carruth was a standout basketball and tennis player at Parklane who went on to star at Ole Miss in tennis. She was also elected as Miss Ole Miss in 2000. She is married to Jeff Carruth of Summit. The couple has three children who attend Parklane: Hastings, a sixth grader; Brewer, a fourth-grader; and Carlyle, who is in kindergarten. Tammy Newlon Gillihan, Class of 1990 ! Tammy Newlon Gillihan was the female athlete of the year for the Clarion-Ledger newspaper, the MPSA, Mississippi State University and the SEC. Now she can add the Parklane Sports Hall of Fame to her resume. Gillihan now works as a physical therapist at the Southwest Regional Medical Center and a part-time basketball coach at Parklane. She has three children, Newlon, a sophomore, Liberty, a fifth grader, and Mercy Grace, a pre-school student. Coach Dan Lewman Long-time Parklane coach Dan Lewman joins the 2015 Sports Hall of Fame. Lewman led Parklane to three softball state championships and three runner-up finishes while amassing a 183-75 record. He was also a varsity football assistant and a head junior high football coach for several seasons. He led Parklane to two South AA junior high football titles, and was an assistant on five varsity football state championship teams. Lewman, 65, of Summit has been a teacher/coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College since 2000. Lewman married his wife Lisa in 2004. He has two step-children, Allie

Renegar and Grant Renegar, both of whom graduated from Parklane. The couple has one daughter, Elizabeth Claire, who is a fourth-grader at Parklane. The family attends First Baptist Summit where Lewman serves as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Lewman’s parents, Dan Sr. and Betty have been long-time Parklane supporters. Dan Sr. served on the original Board of Directors of Parklane Academy as chairman.  He is honored annually with the Dan Lewman Sr. Leadership Award. Dan’s brother Tom graduated from Parklane in 1978.
