2015 Membership Fees and Subscriptions
The membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December. New members joining in the last quarter of
the year (October to December) pay only the following year’s membership fee. Renewal invitations are
issued in December each year which provides details of your membership fees and the methods of payment
available to you. No VAT is payable on professional subscriptions.

If you are a member that is registered through the IFE with the Engineering Council (www.engc.org.uk), an
additional subscription and registration fee is payable.

Methods of Payment
Direct Debit
You can pay via Direct Debit for all grades of membership from your second year of registration onwards.
You can choose to pay annually, or quarterly to spread the cost over the whole year. Setting up a Direct
Debit is simple, if you have a UK bank account, please complete the Direct Debit Instruction and return it to
us in the post. New Instructions must be received by 10th January. If you already pay via Direct Debit, you do
not need to complete a new instruction unless there is a change to your bank details.
Credit or debit card
Please call us on +44 (0) 1789 404057 between our office opening hours of Monday to Friday 8:30am to
16:30pm to pay by debit or credit card. We accept all cards with a 16 digit card number. Please ensure you
have your card number and membership number to hand when contacting us.
Alternatively, you may prefer to email the details to us at [email protected] if this is more convenient.
Please note – an administration charge of £5.00 will be charged with your membership renewal for UK
residents who choose not to pay by Direct Debit.
Sterling cheque or bank draft
Please make cheques/drafts payable to 'The Institution of Fire Engineers' and write your name and
membership number on the back. All payments must be made in pounds sterling.

Members of branches outside the UK
Please do not send payment direct to the UK. If you have any query regarding your membership fees, please
contact your local branch for advice.
