WELCOME TO OuR 2015 RALLY BROCHuREIt gives me great pleasure to present the 2015 rallyprogramme for our Centre in this my second yearasChairman.Hopefullyeveryonewill findsomethingtheylikewhichwillencouragethemtojoinusontherallyfieldatsometimeduringtheyear.2015 is a special year as we celebrate the Centre’s40th Birthday, Mayday weekend or you can extendyour stay to a 6 night rally to make a longer break.The programme is looking good and exciting withsomethingforeveryone.Furtherdetailsareavailablein thishandbookand Iwouldencourageyou togiveus your support and help us celebrate the Centre’sBirthday.Savethedate,don’tdelaybooktoday.IwouldliketothankDenisandtherallysubcommitteeforgiving their timeduring theyear toproducea fullandvariedrallyprogramme.Asalwayswewouldnothave a rally programme without the dedication andsupportofourrallymarshals.Theyareallvolunteerswho often have to take leave from work in order toorganisefunfilledweekendsfortherestofus.Iwouldliketoextendmypersonalthankstoeachandeveryoneofthem.Mythanksalsomustgotothelandownerswhoallowustorallyontheirland.Thanks go to Joan for all her work, time and telephone calls to successfullygettingcompaniestoadvertiseinthisbrochure.Pleasesupportthemwheneverpossibleaswithoutthemthebrochurewouldcostalotofmoney.Last year was a fantastic year for our Centre Charity, The Yorkshire AirAmbulance raising the grand sum of £4600. BassentHwaite LakeWelcome to Herdwick Croft at Bassenthwaite Lake. Based in the English Lake District, very close to the

beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake, Herdwick Croft offers an award winning caravan and touring park with views over the North Lakeland fells. Secluded, yet well equipped site at the Northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake, within easy

reach of the best of the English Lake District. The site has static holiday homes for hire, sleeping up to six people in comfort, or sites for your own caravan or touring vehicle.

From the M6 Motorway: Turn off at Penrith - Junction 40 - then head along the A66 towards Keswick. Go

past the Keswick turn off and continue along the A66 towards Cockermouth for about 6 miles. You will see

Bassenthwaite Lake on your right and will pass through a winding dual carriageway. On the exit of the dual

carriageway after ½ mile there is a turning right towards Bothel. Follow the signs for The Castle Inn (right again)

and when you reach the small bridge over the River Derwent, cross over and Herdwick Croft is immediately

infront of you!From the South Lakes: Drop down into Keswick but turn right when you see signs for Penrith. Go up the hill then bear left following signs for Cockermouth. Follow the A66 towards Cockermouth.After 5 miles you will see

Bassenthwaite Lake on your right and will pass through a winding dual carriageway. On the exit of the dual

carriageway after ½ mile there is a turning right towards Bothel. Follow the signs for The Castle Inn (right again)

(e) Thefollowingprocedureshallbeadoptedwithregardtotheissue,collectionandcountingofballotpapersattheAnnualGeneralMeeting. (i) TheSecretaryshallappoint,fromamongstsubscribingmemberswhoarenotnomineesforoffice,nortellersinvolvedinthepoll,memberstoissueballotpapers. (c) The Centre shall not pledge the credit of the Club unless authorised by the Club ExecutiveCommittee. (d) Grants received from Club funds by the Centre shall be expended wholly for the benefit ofmembersregisteredwiththeCentre. (e) The funds of the Centre shall be administered by its Committee to the approval of the ClubExecutiveCommitteebutonthewindingupoftheCentreanyremainingfunds,trophies,etc.shallrestwiththeClub. (d) Alleventsorganisedshallhavetheapprovalof theCommitteewhowillco-ordinate therallyandsocialprogrammetothebenefitofall"Members". (e) RallyMarshalsshallsendastatementofaccounttotheTreasurerattheirearliestconveniencebutinanycasenotlaterthan21daysaftertheevent. (f) Marshals responsible for rallies shall be limited to one Marshal and one Co-Marshal, except inthecaseofrallieslastingmorethantwonights,orotherexceptionalcases,whentheCommitteemustbeconsulted. (g) TheRallyMarshal andCoMarshal(s) asnamedwithin theCentreBrochureentry for theRally,oranysubstituteasnotified toandagreedbytheCentreCommittee,willnotbeexpectedtopayanyfeeinconnectionwiththerunningandorganisationof theRally,exceptforanysuchfeesthathavenotbeenwaivedbyanylandownerorperson(s)supplyinganyserviceoractivityprovidedaspartofthesaidrally.9. SPECIALGENERALMEETING.ASpecialGeneralMeetingoftheCentreshallbecalledbytheCentreSecretaryatanytime. (a) ontheinstructionoftheCouncil,theExecutiveCommitteeoftheCluboroftheCentreCommittee. (b) attherequestinwritingbynofewerthan25"Members"oftheCentreandstatingtheaddressofeachsuch"Member",suchrequestsettingoutclearlythepurposeforwhichaSpecialGeneralMeetingisdesired,providedthat14daysclearnoticebegiventoeachmemberwhohassubmittedtheformreferredtoinRule4(b)andthatsuchnoticeconveningthemeetingsetsforthclearlythepurposeforwhichitisbeingheld.Memberswhohavenot,at least14daysprior to thepostingof thenoticeconveninganymeeting,submittedtheformreferredtoinRule4(b)shallnotbeentitledtoreceivenoticeof,ortospeakorvote,atsuchmeeting.10. DISCIPLINE(a)TheCommittee isempowered to takedisciplinaryactionagainstany "Member"whoin theopinionof theCommittee isguilty,eitherdirectlyorbypersons forwhomhe/she isanswerable,ofanyconductatanyoftheCentre'sfunctionsprejudicialtothegoodreputeoftheCentreorofthecomfortorconvenienceofothermembersattendingoneoftheCentre'sfunctions. (b) DisciplinaryactionmaytaketheformofsuspensionfromtheCentre'sactivities. (c) Any "Member" who is disciplined under this rule has the right to be heard in person by theCommittee.11. GENERAL.Officersshallnotdivulgethenamesandaddressesoftheir"Members"withouttheconsentof theExecutiveCommittee,ormakeanyusethereofexceptforthecorrespondenceoftheCentreortheClub.12. AMENDMENTOFRULES.SubjecttotheapprovaloftheClubExecutiveCommitteetheserulesmaybeamendedatanAnnualGeneralMeeting(seeRule6(e)orSpecialGeneralMeetingafterSubmissionofformalnoticeofmotions.


RALLY RuLES AND INFORMATION PREFACE

RallyRuleshaveevolvedfromexperiencegainedatpastralliesandaredesignedfirsttoprotect,sofaraspossiblethesafetyofMembers,theirfamiliesandpropertywhenattendingralliesandsecondtomaintainacceptablestandardsontheRallyField.TheRallyRulesaresupplementarytotheCaravanClubRulesandEastYorkshireCentreRules.

ORGANISATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. TheauthorityfortheconductoftheRallyshallbevested,forthetimebeing,intheRallyMarshal,whoshallbeanEastYorkshireCentreFull,JointorFamilyMemberoraMemberoftheYouthGroupCommitteeorhisappointeddeputy for the timebeing,who, in theeventofamemberbreaking these rulesshallbeauthorisedtorequestsuchmembertoremovehiscaravanfromthesite.TheRallyMarshalshallreportthematterimmediatelytotheCentreCommitteeforsuchactionasshallbedeemednecessary.2. Theattendanceatthesiteand/orpaymentofrallyfeesshallbeanacceptancebythememberoftheserules.3. TheCentreCommitteereservestherighttorefusetheuseoftherallysitetoanymember,ortorequestanymembertoremovehiscaravanwithoutbeingobligedtogiveareason.4. ThereceiptbytheRallyMarshalofthebookingslipandbookingfeeatleasttendayspriortotherallyshallbeaprerequisitetothesupplyofrallyplaquesandnewspaperstothemember.Nomembershallbeentitled toa rallyplaqueunlessheattends the rally forat leastonenightwithhiscaravan.Slipswill notnormallybeacknowledged.OnWeekendRalliestheRallyMarshalwill,ifpossible,obtainthenewspaperofyourchoiceonSaturdayandSunday.Newspaperstobepaidforonarrivalattherally.5. ThereisnoresponsibilitybytheClub,CentreorRallyMarshalforaccidents,damageorlosshowevercaused.6. OtherthaninexceptionalcircumstancesanysiteorpartofasiteonwhichaRallyisheldshallbefortheexclusiveuseoftheCaravanClub.

FINANCE7. TheBookingFeeforaRallyistobeenclosedwiththeRallyBookingSlip,andexceptwhentheRallyiscancelled,isnotreturnable.Unlesspreviouslypaid,allotherfeesshallbepaidonarrivalatthesite.8. Any member who having booked a Rally, fails to attend the Rally without giving advance notice ofnon-attendance to theRallyMarshal, or in theeventofnotbeingable tocontact theRallyMarshal, oneoftheCentreOfficers,Vice-ChairmanorRallySecretary,willbeliabletopaythebalanceofanyRallyfeedue,togetherwiththecostofanynewspapersorsocialticketsasorderedonthebookingslip.TheCentreTreasurerwilladvisemembersofanyamountsdueunderthisruleonreceiptof therelevantRallyreturn,andpaymentshouldbeforwardedwithin7days.

SAFETY9. ThespeedlimitonthesiteisWALKINGPACE(i.e.5m.p.h.).Onlyfullylicenseddriversareallowedtodrivevehiclesonthesiteandinnocircumstancesaredrivinglessonspermitted.10. Inviewofthepossibledangertocaravansandcarstheflyingofkitesormodelaircraft,theplayingofballgames(otherthaninthedesignatedarea),theuseofguns,airpistols,catapultsandotherdangeroustoysandtheridingofbicyclesonthesiteisstrictlyprohibited.11. Open firesarenotallowedon therally fieldexceptbyconsentof theRallyMarshal.Barbecueusersshould not cause inconvenience to other members and must exercise caution to avoid creating a firehazard.Itisrecommendedthatabucketofwaterisplacedwithinthevicinityofeachbarbecuewhilstinuse.12. Alwayscarrylevellingblocks,afireextinguisherminimum1kgDryPowderorequivalent,anapprovedfireblanket,afirst-aidkitandsufficientwaterforimmediateneeds.13. A redbucket labelledFIREand filledwithwater, shouldbe inplaceadjacent to theA-Frameof thecaravan,forthedurationoftherally.14. Whentherallyfieldistoowetahazardflagwillbeflown.Toavoidunnecessarydamagetothefield,membersshouldnotremovetheircarsorcaravanswithout thepermissionof theRallyMarshalwhentheflagisflying.15. Nocompetitionsinvolvingtheuseofmotorvehiclesinmotiononthesitewillbepermitted.


HYGIENE16. Members must provide their own toilet and must empty the contents into the pit, or disposal pointprovided.Itmustnotbechargedorrinseddirectlyfromadrinkingwatertap.Wastewatermustbecollectedintoareceptaclewhichdoesnotleakoroverflow,normallydisposalwillbealongahedgerow.Theuseoffiltersorsimilarcontrivancesisprecluded.17. Animalsmustatalltimeswhenonthesitebeheldortetheredonleadsnotexceeding12feetinlengthandownersarerequestedtopreventthemfromfoulingthegroundonanypartof therallysite.AfterduewarninganypersoninbreachofthisrulemaybeaskedbytheRallyMarshaltoleavethesite.18. The Elsan Pit must only be used for toilet disposal, not for waste water or rubbish. Please take allrefusehome,leavingnolitter,includingteabagsonoraboutthesite.

GENERAL CONDuCT19.Eachcaravanmustbeplacedonthepitchindicated,withtheright-handcorner(front)overthemarker.Thetowingvehicleshould,wherepossible,beparkedontheright-handsideofthecaravan.20.Atsomeralliesthereservationofpitcheswillnotbepermitted.OtherwisethereservationofpitchesislimitedtoonepitchexceptinthecaseoftheRallyMarshalrequiringconvenientpitchesforassistants.21. At the expiration of the period of the Rally all caravans must be removed from the site unless priorarrangementshavebeenmadebytheRallyMarshalwiththeowner.22. Whereafullawningisnoterected,afreestandingPup/Dometentmaybeerected,insituandinthespace otherwise provided for a full awning on the nearside of the caravan. The tent must only be usedas additional sleeping accommodation and must not exceed 6ft by 8ft. The tent must be surroundedby a wind break for protection of the occupants, which must also have reflective tape attached to it onits outer extremity and/or peg lines. No fire and/or gas appliances will be allowed in the tent under anycircumstances.The tent tocontainnomore than twooccupants.Alloccupantsmustbedependentsor inthecareofmembersofTheCaravanClub.23. Excessive noise should not spoil the pleasant atmosphere at rallies, and you are asked to avoid allunnecessary noise especially after children have gone to bed, and certainly after 11.30p.m. Official orprivatepartiesshouldundernocircumstancescauseannoyancetopeoplenotattendingthem.24. Generatorsmayonlybeusedforamaximumperiodof twohours inanyonedaybetweenthehoursof10am-12noonand4-6pm.Theymustnotbeleftunattendedandaretobeplacedonthenearsideofthemember'soutfit.However, this restrictionwillnotapply to theuseofgeneratorsby theRallyMarshalsasmayberequired foractivitiesoramenitiesprovidedaspartof therally.Norwill itapply tomemberswhoneedtoruntheirgeneratorduetoamedicalcondition,shouldnoothermeansofpowerbeavailableandwiththepriorapprovaloftheRallyMarshals.25. Sleepinginmotorvehicles,otherthanmotorcaravans,isnotallowedatrallies.26. Members must ensure that their children do not trespass or damage the site owner's or adjoiningowner'sproperty.Parentalcontrolmustbeexercisedoverchildrenatsocialevents.27. Should it be necessary to use Land Rovers etc. for the movement of cars and caravans, the Club,Centre,RallyMarshal,ownerordriverwillnotacceptanyresponsibilityforanydamagewhichmayoccur.Adonationtowardsthecostoffuelwillbeappreciated.28. Theuseofarallysiteisaprivilegeanditisthemembersresponsibilitytoensurethattheprivilegeisnotabused.29. With the exception of Overseas Holiday Rallies which may be booked when they are advertised,bookingofallotherRalliescanbemadefromthe5thJanuaryeachyear.Detailsofthesewillbepublishedon the Centre Website during the preceeding December. For those members without access to theCentreWebsite,alistofralliestogetherwiththenameoftheleadmarshal,willbeavailablefromtheRallySecretaryfrom1stDecemberuponrequest.30. TheforegoingaresupplementarytotheobligationwhichallmembersundertakeonjoiningtheCaravanClubandwhichincludestheobservationoftheCaravanCodeandCountryCode.

SPORTS CO-ORDINATORS REPORTHelloFirstofallIwouldliketosayabigthankyoutoeveryonewhoturneduptosupportortakepartinthe2014sportingevents.We had a very successful year at the Chairman’s Rally and NorthernCentre’s.AllofourCentreTrophieswereawardedat theChairman’sandweretainedandwonseveralTrophiesfortheCentreatNorthernCentre’s.Iwouldlovetohaveyoursupportinthisyear’sevents,maybeenterafewmorecategories.Our Centre Sports is at Hutton Cranswick on 3rd-5th July. It is a greatvenuewithsportingfacilitiesavailable.Adultsandchildrenareallwelcometotakepart,withmanymedalsandtrophiestobewon.OnceyouareinthesportymoodthefollowingweekistheJointYorkshireCentreSportsRally,werethesixCentre’scompetewitheachother,againmoremedalsandtrophiestobewon.The Northern Centre’s Rally is held at Wrightington, South Lancashire atAugustBankholiday.Thiseventalsorunsasaholidayrallyforthosewhowish. There are lots of different sports events taking place between theCentre’sandonceagainmoremedalsandtrophiestobewon.Wedidverywelllastyearandwouldloveyoualltojoinusthisyear,seasonedandnewralliersarewelcome,themorethemerrier.Thelasteventof theyear istheSixStarRallyatElvingtonAirfield.Alongwith lawndarts,quoits, remotecontrol cars racingandkickstart youcanalsotakepartindrivingcompetitions.I hope I have given you something to think about and maybe tempt youto come and join us. HAVE YOu BEEN ON A RALLY YET?IF NOT, THEN READ ON AND GIVE IT A TRY!

ItissimplyagatheringofCaravanClubmembers,foraweekendorholiday,topromotefriendshipandpursuemanypleasures,pastimesandsports, ina lightheartedmannerand have some fun along the way. You should never feel obliged to join in anythingwhichdoesnotinterestyou. The Rally Marshal is an ordinary member who has volunteered to organise andruntheRally.Thisusually includesarrangingtheRallywith the landowner,signingtheapproach to theRally fieldandorganisingcompetitionsandentertainment forallages.Thismay includeasocialontheSaturdayeveningwhich isafamilyeventwithgamesforthechildrenanddancingforallagesoraparty inthefield inSummerwithsportingand fund raising events and walks throughout the season. Arrangements for a watersupply and facilities for the disposal of waste water and toilet emptying will be made.Newspaperswillbeordered inaccordancewithyour instructionsontheslip.TheRallyusuallystartsat5pm.unlessstatedotherwise;thisistoallowtheMarshalsufficienttimetoprepare,sopleasedonotarrivebefore. Onarrivalat thefield,driveuptotheRallyvanwhereallwillberevealed-pleaseadvisetheRallyMarshalthatthisisyourfirstrally.Youwillthenbehandedanenvelopecontaining the Rally programme of activities and simple advice on local amenities,restrictionsandarrangements forwastewateretc.Towards theendof theRally thereis a “round the flag”. This is where the Ralliers gather at the Marshal's van to hearthe results of the competitions, extend thanks to those who make the Rally possible,particularlytheMarshals,welcomevisitorsandnewRalliersandannounceforthcomingevents. Allyouneedinadditiontoitemsyouwouldnormallyexpecttotakeonacommercialsite, is your own toilet together with a water container to fill it (toilets must never betaken to the drinking water tap, this is a serious health hazard), a waste bin for drywastewhichyouhave to takehomewith you; simplewoodenwedgesandblocksaresometimesrequiredforslopingfields.Thefield ismarkedout toensureamplespacingbetweencaravansandapleasingappearance. It is intendedthefrontoffsidecornerofthecaravanisonthemarkerandtheowner'scarisparkedalongtheoffside. Finally please read the rules which appear on the previous pages and wherenecessary,makesuretheothermembersofyourfamilyareawareofwhatisexpectedofthem.

NEW VENuES & RALLY PROGRAMME FORMATIONUsing the current guide lines for rally allocation, one sure way of becoming a RallyMarshalistofindanewvenue,youwouldthenhavefirstchoiceofrunningit.

From February the Rally programme will be with all Committee Members for anyoneinterestedtoseehowtheprogrammeisdeveloping,butpleaserememberthatuntiltheRally programme is ratified by the Committee at the September meeting it is subjecttochange. GuIDELINES FOR ALLOCATING RALLIES TO RALLY MARSHALSPublished with the unanimous agreement of your Committee, these guidelines for rally allocation tomarshalshavebeenusedsuccessfullyforanumberofyears.NumberofmarshalsCentrerule8(f)highlightsthenumberofmarshalsallowedtorunarally.ForralliesgreaterthantwonightsthereisaseparaterallyformtomakethenecessaryrequesttoCommitteeforadditionalmarshalsplustheappropriatereasoning.Inthiswaythereisarecordoftherequestasthebrochureisbeingputtogetherfromtherallyformreturns.Allocationofralliestorallymarshals Ifavenue isusedmore thanonceayearbut fordifferent reasons /events functions, therallywillbe

offered to the lastmarshal for thateventat that venue, In thecaseof aneweventat ausedvenuethenthevenuewillbeofferedtofinderoftheevent,inthecaseofacentreeventitwillbeoffered,bydiscretionoftheCommittee,duringtheformationoftherallyprogramme.Itmaywellbethattherewillbeoccasionswheremorethanonerallymarshalrunsaneventatthesamevenueinthesameyear.CloseconsultationwillbemadethroughouttheformationoftherallyprogrammewiththeLandownerand/oragent.

Repeatralliesforthesameevent,willbeofferedinthefirstinstancetothepreviousmarshal,thentheco-marshal,thenthefloor.

Re-introducedrallies/eventwillbeofferedasabove.Howeverforfairnessandencouragementtonewmarshals,itishopedthatifthepreviousmarshalisholdingorco-marshallingsay4to6ralliesormore,includingnewvenues,thentheywillallowthere-introducedrallytogothefloorfirsttimeround.Somecommonsenseandgoodwillisrequiredinthespiritoffairness.

Newvenues/events,willbeofferedinthefirstinstancetothefinder.Iftheofferisnottakenupitwillbeofferedtothefloor,

Wherearallyisopentothefloor,membersinterestedshouldmaketheirchoiceknownbytheshowofhands.For fairness, therewillbeonechanceperhusbandandwifepartnership. In theeventofmorethanonepartnershipinterest-cardswillbedrawnAcehigh.

Intheeventofare-introducedrallynotbeingtakenupfirsttimeround,thepreviousmarshalifholdingalargenumberofralliesasindicatedmaytakeuptheofferifpreviouslydeclined.

6. Where Rally Officers have set out site pegs, caravans should be parked withtheoffsidecornerasneartothepegaspossible,unlesstoldtodootherwise.All“A”framesmustfacethesamedirection.

EYC 40 YEAR HISTORY – 1975 – 2015TheEastYorkshireCentrewasformedontheseventhofApril1975atameetingorganisedbytheCaravanClubandconductedbythelateTedOliverwhoatthattimewasavice-chairmanoftheCaravanClub.Membershipof theCaravanClubgrewrapidlyduring the1950’s.At that timeallmemberswereautomatically allocated to a Centre and to assist in administering the huge membership of theYorkshireCentreitwasdividedinto‘Groups’intheearlysixties.TheEastGroupwasoneofthese.Effectively theGroupswereCentres inallbutnamebut theultimatecontrol,powerofvetoandrepresentationatClubCouncilremainedwiththeYorkshireCentre.In 1974 the East Group committee requested permission from the Club to form a Centre andthemeetingoftheseventhofApril1975,at theMemorialHall,Beverley,wasarrangedatwhichmemberscouldvoicetheiropinionontheproposal.Members filled the Memorial Hall to capacity. Some were from the other Groups and some represented the Yorkshire Centre but most were members of the East Group. After a vigorousandlengthydebateasubstantialmajorityvotedtoestablishanewCentre.ThenameEastYorkshireCentrewasacceptabletotheClub,noboundaryorterritorialchangeswereinvolvedandastructure for administration was in place. Ted Oliver decided that an immediate election of Officers andCommitteeshouldbeheld.BernardCammack,apastEastGroupChairman,actedaschiefteller. Arthur Fox was elected as first Chairman, Les Moss was unopposed as Treasurer. There weremorenominations forcommittee thanrequiredandafterare-count,acommitteeof twelvememberswaseventuallyelected.TherewasnocandidateforthepositionofCentreSecretaryandEric Constable was persuaded, from the floor, to take on the duties of acting Secretary. The new Centre Committee held it’s first meeting on the 30th April 1975. During the meeting a decisionwasmadetoapply formembershipof theJointNorthernCentresLiaisonandNorthernCentresRallyCommittees.Theseapplicationsweredulyaccepted.Ralliers attending the Centre holiday rally at Olivers Mount, Scarborough, in May 1975 were the first toreceiveRallyplaquesbearingthewords‘EastYorkshireCentre’.AtoneoftheearlymeetingsofthecommitteeLesMoss,theCentreTreasurer,madethesuggestionthatthewords‘EastYorkshireCentre’wouldlookwellonrallyplaquesifprintedona‘curve’.Thisdesignwasadoptedandhasbeenusedeversince-andcopiedbymanyotherCentres.A competition to design a Centre logo for the field Pennant was arranged. From a large number of entriesthedesignsubmittedbyDickShawwaschosen,byballot,attheannualPhotographicandFilmshoweveningheld inOctober1975.Thisattractivedesign isaschematicdepictionofEastYorkshireanditsdistinctivecoastline.Thelandareaisrepresentedinsand-goldcolourandtheseabyblue/whitewaves.TheClubhorseshoeisinthetopleftcornerandtheYorkshirerosesurround-ing a capital E is in the centre. The new Centre Pennant was first flown at the Catfoss “Deepfreeze” Rallyonthe6thFebruary1976.The Centre Chairman’s and Lady’s Jewels were donated by a local caravan dealer, CountyCaravans, and were presented at the first Centre Dinner and Dance held in September 1975 at York Racecourse.MikeTripp’ssuggestionof“About”wasacceptedasthenameoftheCentrenewsletterataCommitteemeetingon15thOctober1975.“ABOUT”hasbeenpublishedregularlysincethen.ParalleltotheCentreCommitteeaTeenagerSectionwasformed.TheTeenagershaveplayedapositive and helpful role in Centre activities since then and in July 2001 organised their fiftieth rally onbehalfoftheCentreatAtwickontheEastYorkshirecoast.FollowingtheformationoftheCentrethemembershiproserapidly.From1976to1979membershipincreasedfrom529to836andcontinuedtogrowandactuallyreached1,253membersin1980.Membershiphasremainedsteadyataround1000overthepastfewyearswhichputsitamongstthelargestCentreswithintheCaravanClub.TheCentrehasmadeabigoccasionof itspreviousBirthdays.The tenthbirthdayof theCentrewas celebrated at Bishop Burton College in May 1985, the twenty-first at Driffield in 1996 and the twenty-fifth, also at Driffield, in April 2000. The Centre staged another highlight event in 2000 when itcelebratedtheMilleniumwitharallyinJuneatSledmereHouse.ScampstonHallplayedhosttothe30thand35th.Over theyears theCentrehashelpedmany localcharitableorganisationsby raising thousandsofpounds in theirsupport. Ithasalso,since its formation,accepteda leadingrole in thesocial,sportingandpolitical lifeof theClub-especiallysupporting joint rallieswithinYorkshireand theNorthernCentresRally.EastYorkshirehashostedNorthernCentreson fouroccasions-DaltonParkin1979and1987,BurtonConstable1999andatCarltonTowers2010.Rallymilestoneshavealsobeenrecognisedbyaspecialevent-the100thrallyatMorebyPark,May1977,the250thatBeverleyRacecourse,May1981,the1000thatBurtonConstable,June1991andthe 2000th at Beverley in September 2001. 2013 saw the Centre celebrate its 3000th rally at Driffield Showground.Quiteanachievement!WhichbringsusrightuptodatebecauseinMay2015EastYorkshireCentrewillbe40yearsold.

SPACING OF CARAVANS AT RALLIES

There MUST be a minimum space left clear of 3 metres (10 feet)between adjoining outfits (car, caravan and awning) in any direction.
