We are now an agenda item on the CSD meeting agenda and we also attend the LOCAC meetings to monitor relevant issues pertinent to our membership. I have just been appointed to the Visit Los Osos Baywood Park Advisory Board and hope we can create synergy to help both organizations. We will reach out to the community to champion a local group in need. We will examine our mission statement and by-laws to align it with our new direction. If the Federal Reserve raises short-term interest rates this year, as many financial professionals predict, what will it mean to you as an investor? For one thing, if rates rise, the value of your existing bonds will likely fall. This won’t matter to you if you plan on holding your bonds until maturity, because as long as the issuers don’t default, you’ll continue receiving regular interest payments - and when

HOW SHOULD YOU RESPOND TO HIGHER INTEREST RATES?your bonds do mature, you can redeem them at full face value. What if you need to sell bonds before they mature? To guard against price volatility, and to gain the opportunity to benefit from higher rates, you may want to own short-, intermediate- and long-term bonds. When the short-term bonds mature, you can use the proceeds to invest in the new, higher-paying bonds. At the same

Attend this walk and develop an awareness of the comings and goings of the Forest’s animal, bird and reptile inhabitants – some- thing we wouldn’t readily see while walking along the boardwalk. Walks in the Elfin Forest begin at times stated above at the north end (1100 block) of 15th Street off Santa Ysabel (16th Street for wheelchairs) in Los Osos. Wear comfortable shoes, long sleeves and pants to avoid poison oak and mosquitoes. Park carefully, avoiding driveways and mailboxes, and leave pets at home.
