The JICA Study has developed a Long Term Master Plan (PSMP-2010) according to the study for power demand forecasts and the power supply development plan by 2030 in Bangladesh. PSMP-2010 is divided into four period:

As for the implementation of the transmission network plan for horizon year 2030, 2010-2015 plan is under implementation. Scope of work of this study is preparing detail transmission plan for 2015-2020 based on PSMP-2010 & considering the following factors:

(1) Power demand forecast for 2015-2020.(2) Power development plan for 2015-2020.(3) Effective utilization and expansion of the existing transmission network.(4) Facilities expansion criteria.(5) Possible power system interconnected with the neighboring countries,

6) Least cost basis facilities development.
