Dear Artist, We cordially invite you to apply to the 16th Annual Wesleyan Artist Market being held May 1-3, 2014. We are excited to host over 85 professional artists in our multi-level, 58,900 square foot exhibiting space located on Wesleyan’s beautiful campus in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. The Wesleyan Artist Market is an indoor celebration of the arts and is the largest fundraising event for the Wesleyan Arts Alliance. All proceeds directly benefit the Arts programs at Wesleyan School. The Market is a much-anticipated tradition celebrating the arts and showcasing talented visual artists from all over the Southeast. The 2013 Market was a huge success with significantly increased foot traffic and a 38.5% increase in gross sales, making it the best year in our 15-year history. Preparations already underway, we are carrying the momentum into 2014! Special events during the 2014 Market will include an Opening Night Celebration, live musical performances and a Children’s Market. Artists may set up Thursday morning/afternoon prior to Opening Night, which kicks-off at 7:00 pm. Artist attendance (or an Artist Rep) is required throughout the show to achieve maximum exposure and sales opportunities. Wesleyan volunteer floaters will also be available throughout the show to offer assistance. The Market is heavily promoted throughout the local community. We advertise through social media, signage, newspapers, direct mailings, radio and within the Wesleyan community, including outreach to over 3,000 current and alumni families and business partners. The Wesleyan Artist Market has a reputation for excellent artist hospitality. We proudly offer our complimentary Artist Café, serving delicious recipes by a wonderful team of volunteers throughout the Market. Our loading and unloading process is extremely organized, conveniently located near a door and elevator, and we have many enthusiastic volunteers present to assist you. We strive to make your experience at the Artist Market as easy and pleasurable as possible. We are proud of our reputation of treating our artists as honored guests. This year will be no exception, and we look forward to extending our hospitality to you. The proceeds will directly benefit the Arts programs at Wesleyan School. Agreement and Disclaimer: A completed application is a contract to exhibit. By completing this contract, the above named artist agrees to hold harmless the Wesleyan Arts Alliance, Wesleyan School and the individual members of the organizations for any losses, expenses, demands, and claims sustained or alleged to have been sustained in connection with or to have arisen out of or resulting from activities related to the Wesleyan Artist Market 2014. Our Artist Selection Committee will be provided only the digital images and biography for each artist. The Committee will fill the media categories in addition to selecting the 2014 Market Featured Artists and the alternatives for each category. Every applicant will receive a notice of his or her status.

Artist Rules and Responsibilities:

• All works on display and for sale must be the artist’s original design • No more than 10% of total inventory may consist of prints • Artist or artist representative must stay for the entire show and not break down early. Artists

who depart before closing time on any day of the show will not be allowed to return unless proof of emergency is presented.

• Artists are responsible for their own liability insurance • Artists are responsible for paying sales tax

Wesleyan Arts Alliance Responsibilities and Offerings:

• Marketing via social media, community posters, newspapers, radio and throughout the Wesleyan Community and Business Partners

• Full color professionally produced flyers mailed to over 3,500 buyers in the Atlanta area • Timely merchandise check out (cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted) • Sales reports provided at the end of each day • Complementary Artist Café, serving delicious recipes • Floaters available to watch your booth for ~15 minute break periods • Indoor booth space:

o Choice of one pegboard (3 panels 4’x8’hinged) OR an 8’ table and white tablecloth o One folding chair o Electricity to your booth o You may bring your own table, chair, shelving, decorations and lighting to assist in your

booth display o Loading and unloading area with volunteers to assist o Booth assignments are at the sole discretion of the Wesleyan Artist Market and are not

interchangeable. The Market will attempt to honor specific location requests but can make no guarantees.

• Live entertainment throughout the Market • Facility locked and premise gated at night

Application Requirements:

1. 2014 Wesleyan Artist Market Artist Application 2. Artist Bio and a list of galleries/shows where your artwork has been exhibited, if applicable 3. Five (5) photographs of your current artwork. Photos should include price and dimension

of each piece. The Wesleyan Artist Market reserves the rights to use submitted images for publicity and affirmation purposes before, during and after the event. o In addition to being used by the Artist Selection Committee, the photos will be used for

marketing materials and on our website o Photos can be submitted to the address below with your application package or sent via

email in .jpg format to [email protected] 4. One (1) photograph of your booth from a previous show if you have not shown at our

Market 5. Check for applicable Booth Fee payable to “Wesleyan Arts Alliance”

o Checks and photos will be returned if you are not accepted
