Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is played by more than 500 million people worldwide who just love hitting a ball at the beach with their friends.

“Beach Volleyball is a benchmark for sports events in terms of entertainment, fan engagement, sponsorship activation, music and hospitality.” FIVB1 2FIVB is the international governing body of volleyball and the AVF is the national body.

Volleyball Victoria Incorporated (VVI) is the entity under the AVF to support affiliated partners, other internal and external stakeholders in increasing the participation levels, the development of athletes, coaches and referees in the sport of volleyball in Victoria.

Melbourne Beaches Volleyball Association (MBVA) is the affiliated ‘not for profit’ partner of VVI appointed as the provider of the Official Victorian Beach Volleyball Ranking Series.

VicBeach is MBVA’s Event Manager and conducts the Summer Calendar of events from South Melbourne and St Kilda Beaches from 1 October – 31 March 2014 including:

- Victorian Beach Volleyball Ranking Series (8 events) - Community social tournaments (~6 events) - Corporate Cup - VicBeach Masters (over 30s) - Saturday afternoon “King/Queen of the Beach” tournaments

VicBeach also conducts mid-week activities including:

- Republica Tournament Play at the St Kilda Sea Baths - Sunsetters coaching sessions on South Melbourne beach (opp. The Beach

Hotel)

Benefits Of Sponsoring

VicBeach volleyball events and activities attract hundreds of competitors each week, as well as thousands of passing spectators.

During the Summer 2013 season we had ~7,000 unique beach volleyball visits and an estimated 750,000 passers-by!

That’s a lot of “eyeballs” on our fit, fab and fantastic community of beach volleyball players, supporters and sponsor partner brands.

Branding exposure on the beach for sponsor partners is (at own cost3 and) in the form of:

- windbreak banners & teardrop flags - signage on vehicles - post pads (subject to final design) - marquees

VicBeach actively promotes the sport of volleyball and its sponsor partners off the court, online and across social media too via:

- www.vicbeach.com.au website that attracts more than 1.5m hits per annum - E-newsletter distributed to 2,500 subscribers each month. - Facebook group with over 1,250 active and engaged members and a

@VicBeachVolley twitter account with 350+ followers. - Branded apparel + collateral prepared and distributed with sponsor partner

logos. - Regular promotion in local press including “St Kilda News” and Community

TV.

With your help we will make Summer 2014 the best ever:

- Offering $15,000 in prize money for the ranking series events to attract the very best players in Victoria to compete at every event.

- Ensuring consistent product prizes for players in all rankings and social events i.e. winners and runner-ups in Mens, Womens and Mixed AAA, AA, A, B levels.

- Paying the $12,000 in new State Government Tour Operator License Fees to Port Phillip Council in order to secure the rights to conduct beach volleyball events and activities from South Melbourne and St Kilda.

- Not inflating VVI/MBVA member joining and or entry fees to play the game they love being part of.
