Interconnection Procedures Standard
• In 1999, the California Public Utilities Commission
(CPUC) adopted the Rule 21 to increase the
efficiency of the review of small generation
interconnection. Revised in 2012
• In 2003, IEEE-1547 Standard for Interconnection of
Distributed Resources with Power Systems
• In 2005, FERC adopted small generation
interconnection procedures called the Small
Generator Interconnection Procedures (SGIP).
