EVENT RULES: PROTECTION Full-face helmet with visor must be worn. Other protection (shin, knee, elbow etc.) recommended.

AL CO H O L Tuf Rack wishes to promote a safe and healthy environment for all of those taking part in its events. As such, alcoholic beverages are strictly forbidden while the racecourse is open. This applies for both the course itself as well as in the pit and parking lot areas. This rule will be strictly enforced and those caught in violation will be asked to remove themselves from the event grounds.

STA R T/ F I N I SH A R EA S Both the start and finish areas will be clearly marked and will allow room for riders staging at the start line and slowing down after the finish. Areas will also be taped off to avoid spectators wandering into danger.

TEC H N I C A L A SSI STA N C E R EG U L A TI O N Riders will not be able to perform maintenance on their equipment anywhere on the racecourse, this includes the start and finish areas. If a rider suffers a mechanical failure while on the course, they are asked to walk their bicycle off of the course and perform maintenance in the pit or parking lot areas. This is due to concerns of both safety and pacing throughout the event.

PO O R W EA TH ER / C O U R SE C L O SU R ES The race organizer reserves the right to close the course at any time. In the event of severe weather the race may be delayed, but every effort will be made to continue with the event.

Race Rules:        - The CCA/OCA rules are available online at: http://www.ontariocycling.org/commissaires/commissaires-rules/. The penalty scale of the OCA rulebook will apply. - Every rider must read the Cyclists Responsibility Code on page (7) of this document before participating in this event. - An OCA representative will be present at the race to assist with rider licensing issues. One-Event Racing Permits will be available at the race however you are only able to take out one per season. There will be UCI licenses on race day however a charge of $50 on top of the license will be charged. Contact the OCA for more details. - Races will start promptly at the indicated start times. -Any rider dropping out of the race shall immediately notify a Commissaire. Failure to report a DNF may result in a penalty. -In the event of a red flag during a race run, a rider may ask the Chief        Commissaire for a re-run. The grant of a re-run will only be given by the Chief        Commissaire. - A rider shall not enter or ride on the course when it is outside of the

published practice /race times. If a rider is caught on the course outside of the prescribed time this will result in an immediate suspension of their UCI license.          - Top 3 finishers are required to attend award presentations or risk forfeiting their awards. Top 3 finishers will wear clean competition uniforms for the presentation. - In case of lightning, the race may be delayed or cancelled. If you are informed that the race has been stopped due to lightning, you are advised to seek shelter until the race can resume. There are no refunds if the race must be cancelled. - All riders must sign on at registration. - U.S. Domestic Licenses will no longer be accepted at any Ontario events. US riders will require a UCI international license to participate in any Ontario events. - All foreign licensed riders other than U.S. riders must produce a letter of permission from their country’s federation. - Riders at all times must obey instructions given by marshals, organizational staff, OCA Commissaires and OCA staff, failure to do so could result in a suspension of your license and/ or being disqualified from the race. - Riders are required to complete one full practice run on the Sunday prior to their race run, failure to do so will result in a DNS (did not start). - A full-face helmet must be worn properly both when racing and when training on the course. The helmet must be fitted with a visor. Open-face helmets may not be worn. - Cameras are not permitted during qualifying rounds and finals. - During practice yellow and red flags will be used along with whistles to communicate with the riders. A yellow flag warns the rider to slow down as there could be a rider down in front of them and a red flag means that the rider must stop. - During the race only red flags will be used.
