Amanda L. SageBiography

Amanda’s BioAmanda has a variegated background ranging from computer maintenance and website development to international business and marketing.

She started her first business, Sage Technical Consulting, in 1999 as a high school sophomore, where she taught older adults computer basics and fixed computers. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with bachelor’s degrees in political science and international studies, focusing on international development and intelligence and security.

Upon graduating from Ohio State, she moved to Ghana where she spent the next year and a half working for Women in Progress, a women’s entrepreneurial group and Fair Trade cooperative. While in Ghana, Amanda founded a new cooperative of bead makers, designed textiles and jewelry, and helped organize volunteers for the nonprofit.

Returning to Columbus, Amanda started Gong Gong Communications in early 2009 when she realized the specific need for a marketing firm which provided quality, time-efficient, cost-effective marketing and creative solutions from small businesses and mircopreneurs.

Amanda serves on the board of directors of the Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners as the Vice President of Communications. She is also a tenant and mentor for the Women’s Small Business Accelerator.

Amanda lives in Central Ohio with her husband, Jonathan.
