YEAR IN REVIEW
2014
“Building Christian families
according to God’s design
of adoption.”
awaa.org
This Annual Report is a testament to God’s grace on our agency’s work throughout 2014. As an agency, our staff faithfully
worked to help hundreds of children find permanent, Christian families. In addition, we organized dozens of mission trips, hu-
manitarian projects, and partnerships all of which supported our mission of “building Christian families according to God’s de-
sign of adoption”.
In 2014, our agency increased the number of adoptions from India and China compared to the previous year. In addition, we
completed our first placements from Kyrgyzstan and expect to see more adoptions from this country in the future. Also of note,
our missions department significantly increased the number of service trips we organized, and we successfully held our largest
fundraiser in our agency’s history.
We hit a few milestones in 2014 as well – our agency celebrated 20 years of service to children and families. We also sur-
passed 4,000 total adoptions for our agency since we began.
God’s faithfulness has been constant throughout our agency’s tenure. As we enter this next year and the next 20 years, we do
so with the confidence that: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end” (Lamentations
3:22).
Thank you for taking the time to review this annual report. We look forward to partnering with you in the coming year.
Sincerely,
Brian Luwis, Founder & CEO

ETHIOPIA
America World partners with multiple orphanages in Ethiopia
and invests in humanitarian projects to advance the cause of
orphans. We are devoted to orphan care and know that chil-
dren need to be cared for in every stage of the process as
they wait to be placed with a forever family. We wish that all
children could be adopted but not everyone living in an insti-
tutional setting can be. America World cares greatly about
ensuring as many children as possible receive quality care
and are honored to be able to take part in this cause.
We commit to funding multiple orphanages which means
providing for:
nannies to be the hands and feet of the love and nurture
children need!
formula for infants for a year and food for older children!
clean drinking water for a year!
staff to gather clearances and adoption paperwork so
children can be adopted!
Medication and nurses and doctors!
cooks, cleaners, laundry, hygiene products, lotion and
more!
America World also runs a sponsorship program sponsoring
many families so that they can stay together despite financial
concerns. Our domestic program matched multiple children in
our Transition Home this year with families living in and from
Ethiopia. We also send mission teams to the orphanages who
have provided mattresses for 300 girls, blankets, a new bath-
room, and various other projects including holding and loving
on children in 2014!
America World Adoption is proud to be licensed and Hague/COA
accredited in 24 states, including our corporate office in Virginia,
and privileged to work with 90 social workers across the country.
Each of our affiliate offices is fully licensed in its respective state
to provide adoption home study services (including post adoption
services) to families adopting through America World. Most of our
affiliate offices are also able to provide home study services for
families adopting through other agencies.
In 2014, our affiliate offices completed 242 home studies for
families adopting through America World or other agencies.

2014 MISSIONS TRIPS
Our teams traveled to five different countries and provided
donated specially fitted wheelchairs for handicapped chil-
dren in Haiti, new mattresses bought and private latrine
built for abandoned teenage girls in Ethiopia, enough
funds to get a critically needed medical clinic and school
started in a remote province of China and overall touched
the lives of hundreds of children all over the world. It’s
impossible to put into hard data how many hearts were
inspired and lives effected by the tremendous work of our
mission teams in 2014. We saw team members come
back to the U.S. feeling a heavy burden for orphan care
and being inspired to advocate for the adoption of Waiting
Children and sponsorship.

2014 DEVELOPMENT
On December 10th, 2014 we held our first annual Day of Hope Phone-a-Thon to kick off America World’s year-end fundraising
campaign. Our goal was to raise $120,000 to cover the cost of the rent for our 2 transition homes in Ethiopia, underwrite the
expenses for our Spring Welcoming Angels Hosting program for children from China, and support our post-adoption initiatives
designed to provide critical care and support to families and children post-adoption.
This year, thanks to the generosity of people like you, we raised $93,902 during the Day of Hope year-end fundraiser. In addi-
tion, we were blessed with a very generous matching grant in the amount of $60,000. We are pleased to announce that we
were able to exceed our goal for this year end campaign and raise $153,902 by December 31st.
Thank you for your commitment to America World!
