Main St., downtown Norfolk on Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the 2014 ‘Instruments of Art’ with a celebration and auction. TAO whose mission brings the healing arts to those who are isolated by society, engaged regional artists such as Constance Fahey, Lisa Ashinoff and Pamela Pine Winslow to name a few who transformed more than 30 musical instruments into works of art, showcasing the distinctive talent of each artist. Select instruments will be available for public viewing at Decorum Furniture, NYFO Boutique, and Selden Arcade, March 3-14. The entire collection can be seen online starting March 3 at TidewaterArtsOutreach.org. At the March 15 celebration, admission includes gourmet hors d’oeuvres and two drink tickets and live music from the Russell Scarborough Trio. Custom works of art will be auctioned via silent and live auction formats. Most artwork will be under $250, but a range of work is available for purchase. Consider buying a ticket for the Festival’s Merrill Guitar Giveaway. Credit cards, checks and cash are accepted. Dress is nice casual to cocktail attire.
