The BoA has held monthly video meetings and attended numerous events with the College and Chapter, as well as with TKE National. We currently have two members and one BoA member scheduled to attend this years Conclave in August. As a Chartered Association and recognized BoA, we have voting privileges at Conclave which we will exercise as amendments to the National by-laws are addressed. Fingers crossed, the Chapter will be officially recognized at Conclave with an award. When we left in the spring semester we were ranked #1 out of 15 in our Province and #24 out of 255 in the entire nation for campus involvement, community service, and philanthropy. Those numbers have slipped a bit over the summer as other Chapters submit the required data to National, but we are still far ahead of most Chapters. The Actives worked extremely hard to reach these goals, and we hope you are all proud. We ultimately want to be recognized as a Top TKE Chapter. We now welcome two new Board members, Chuck Stoll ‘73 and Craig Bubnack ‘15. The energy and excitement these two bring have added to the enthusiasm of our group. We welcome anyone that wants to get involved, so let us know if you have an interest! We are well on our way to insuring this Fraternity remains an important organization on “The Hill”. Fraters:

Summer break is coming to a close and with the school year just around the corner we are itching to get back to the house and

paint this campus grey and cherry. With that being said, when we left for summer break our standings were as follows: first in our province,

fourth in our region, and twenty-fourth overall in TKE Nation. This year’s key goals in line with bringing us even better results. The

changes to the standards include money raised for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, our philanthropy, and several new bonuses (such as the

new GPA standard and the Blueprint Usage).

Last year’s goal of $1,750 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital has been reduced to $750. We can achieve this goal if we plan and

execute our charitable fundraising effectively. In addition, the biggest change incorporated into our key goals for the upcoming year is

philanthropy. To accurately reflect the size of the Zeta-Pi chapter, adjusting the dollar amount from $6,500 to $1000 enables us to brainstorm

additional ideas that have great potential to provide results. Our philanthropy chair, Frater Chris Deeds, along with the rest of the committee

will accomplish this. Furthermore, the GPA bonus is given to chapters with an overall house average GPA equal to or exceeding a 3.0. This

has never been a problem for our house to stay above the proposed average. With that in mind, we finished the year with a 3.2 GPA.

Moreover, with Frater Kevin Jr. Henderson’s graduation, the brotherhood chair position is open and waiting for a man that not only can

bring us together as brothers, but also to bring us together in our bonds as Fraters. A brother who is willing to step up and strengthen us as

scholars by organizing study sessions and pushing us to be the best version of ourselves. I am excited to see who will step up to the plate

and see what they can do to ensure these standards and more are met and exceeded.

We have another big freshman class coming in, therefore this provides us another opportunity for a bigger pledge class. Although,

fraters must not forget that we need to recruit everyone, women included. The more interest we have from the whole of the freshmen class,

the more men will want to join our fine and outstanding Fraternity. Our recruitment chairs, Frater Cody Jankowski and Frater Josh

Mittelberg, along with their committee, have great ambition to really make this happen, but not without the help of the entire Chapter. When

we hold rush events or have opportunities to show people our letters, we all need to be there. We need to stand proud. I fully expect to see

TKE and MӨN letters during the entirety of rush season. We have the best guys on campus, and I expect no less than the very best!

Thanks to the hard work of Frater John Freitag and the rest of the Board of Advisers, the college has decided to repaint the chapter

room, landscape the front entrance, and fix all damages done to walls throughout our fraternity house. This means we have a chance to

really make our house feel more like home and less like a “frat” house. This is a great opportunity to really get a jump start at making our

house that much better. Our newly developed House Management chair, Frater Brendan Williams will see to it that this plan is followed

through. He will be implementing cleaning schedules every week and will be allotted his own budget for cleaning supplies With all the

improvements in place, our house will be better than it has been in years past. Lastly, no frater will be walking into the house this year with

leftover dues rolling in from last year. The expectation is that all members will be paying their dues within the first 30 days of the school

year. This allows us to plan our budget wisely and start off our year with a much more organized approach.

With all these propositions and changes, we can jump start all our plans and have a great start to a new year! Thank you to all the

current members and alumni that have helped to make this vision happen. Without the whole of our organization working together, we

could have never made it to where we are now. The men I call my brothers have truly embodied the meaning of being a better man for a

better world. Frater Wallace G. McCauley once said these words describing the work and passion that fueled our success in securing our

great organization, was defined even by the smallest of our efforts. “Fellow brothers, we are assembled here as Tekes, and if you are in the

same spirit I am tonight, we shall be Tekes until the “moon shall wax and wane no more.” Because in the choice of our name, in the selection

of our pin, and in the securing of our members, I cannot believe that mere luck brought us our good fortune, but rather I cannot help but

recognize even our smallest efforts.”

Well men the day has come. I am now am official alumni. I just want to say thank you to each and every one

of you. You all have made an impact on my life and I will always be grateful. Never take a day as an active

for granted, live it up, drink it down, and above all never forget the men next to you or the one's who have

gone before. I am a Teke. I am the fraternity. And I will now be for life. I will gravely miss you all and every

moment shared. My time has come to a close but my time as a serving alumni now begins. I'm beyond thrilled

to get started to serve new members, actives, and the fraternity.

“I want to give back to Zeta-Pi. By being on the board I can express my gratitude for being a member of

the best fraternity at Culver-Stockton College.”

Welcome aboard Chuck!

It has been my privilege to get to know so many Tau Kappa Epsilon students and alumni this past year. What

a great organization! I am delighted by your commitment to service and impressed that you logged over 1,700

service hours last year. And, as I mentioned in my inauguration speech, I was heartened to learn that the young

men of TKE volunteered to paint a house in Canton, Mo as an act of community building and charity. And

most importantly, I am proud of your academic record, TKE overall attainted a 3.2 grade point average.

It’s clear to me that fine leadership is in place to bring the Chapter to the next level. Many thanks to our many

loyal supporters. Your time, treasure, and talents are greatly appreciated. You are making a difference for the

men of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Culver-Stockton College. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What a ride I've had with TKE on The Hill -- and it's not over, yet. Yes, as some of you know, I along with

my wife Beth Jasper Hansmeier (50 years as of August 7th) had the pleasure of attending/graduating from C-

SC back in the Dark Ages (1965). After a few years "away", I had the opportunity to return to The Hill as Vice

President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. Now, after retirement several years ago, I have had the pleasure

of serving on the BoA to the current TKE's on The Hill. I'm not sure in which of those phases of my life I had

the most fun, but I must say I have truly enjoyed helping and advising the current group of Fraters. It reminds

me how important it is to have mentors and "old guys" around occasionally -- especially when you are young,

think you are invincible, have nothing to fear, and have the world by the tail. You remember those times, don't

you? Or maybe you have forgotten, or purposefully forgotten as I am often accused by some of my classmates.

I urge you to come full-circle with me, get involved, and support these great and talented bunch of Fraters that

currently carry on our banner -- you won't regret it. I would appreciate hearing from you.

Blueprint Program: (Zeta-Pi Participates in Program)

The Blueprint Program is an innovative and interactive program that leads participants through their collegiate career with a structure for

life-long learning. The program has four levels members seek to attain: Initiation, Order of the Founders, Knights of Classic Lore, and

Fraternity for Life.

This groundbreaking cornerstone program allows participants to select their own curriculum. Each level has three modules: Mental, Moral,

and Social Development. Within each module are seven to twelve tasks of which participants are required to complete between two to five.

Each member is given an opportunity to complete activities they believe will help them in their future that are both exciting and entertaining.

There are individual tasks as well as those that can be completed in a group setting.

The program benefits both Tau Kappa Epsilon and each individual member. The organization asks for commitments from both entities that

want to adopt this program to ensure its success. The major commitments are that the program will be done devoid of hazing and that the

group commits to complete the program in its entirety, not relegating the program to a certain group of individuals within the group.

We believe that this will enhance our brotherhood and build better men, which will in turn build a better world.

Chapters/Colonies on The Blueprint work with the Offices of the Grand Chapter to have the program installed and connect a local volunteer

to the group who will ensure the success and longevity of The Blueprint on that particular campus.

Alumni Board Campus Visit

The Alumni Board is planning several trips to campus this year in to continue the quest to become a Top TKE Chapter and insure we meet

and exceed the Key Results Area Goals. The following awards are available: Excellence in Recruitment - Results, Excellence in

Recruitment - Chapter Size, Excellence in Involvement - Community Service, Excellence in Involvement - Alumni Relations, Excellence

in Achievement - Academic Success, Excellence in Achievement - Extracurricular Activities.

If our Chapter meets the minimum requirements for at least 4 of the 6 Excellence Awards, the chapter will be considered for recognition as

a Top TKE Chapter.

We will also speak with each Active Member individually to evaluate their standing in the Chapter, and to reiterate the expectations of

College, TKE International and the Zeta-Pi Alumni. We will review GPA, meeting attendance, volunteerism, and solicit input on how to

better improve the Chapter. We will also discuss Homecoming and other topics. If there is anything you would like us to address please

let us know by emailing [email protected].

Message from Gregg Goss regarding building a lasting legacy

Message from Paul Dinkheller regarding St. Jude

Fraters:

As we get older, it seems that we attend more funerals than weddings or baptisms. It is the unfortunate reminder

that we are NOT getting any younger. The common mantra amongst today's eulogist is "as long as we keep

him or her in our hearts, their legacy shall endure forever". In reality, by the time your graveside flowers have

wilted or the freshly turned dirt turns to grass, most of the deceased have already become an afterthought and

only the subject of old war stories at homecoming or reunions.

Don't let the aforementioned happen to you! We have spent our entire lives building a lasting legacy for our

family and friends. In my own personal case, many (most) of my friendships started right here on the "the

Hill". You can perpetually share your lifelong journey and solidify your legacy by helping future generations

of young men at Culver-Stockton College. This commitment will provide the resources for these young Fraters,

helping them to ascend on the path to creating their own legacies.

How, you ask? It is very simple and relatively affordable; directly designate Culver-Stockton College or the

Zeta Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon as the beneficiary (whole or partial) of your life insurance policy. These

funds could possibly be directed for use in any manner that you or your family wish. If you or your family

decides to move forward in your post-life planning, it is important that you notify the C-SC administration of

your intentions. The college will gladly discuss with you the tax advantages or implications of your charitable

gift.

I cannot ask or encourage my fellow Fraters to do something that I am not willing to do myself. Therefore, I

have instructed my family to donate a very generous amount of funds for our fraternity upon my death. I would

encourage other Fraters to do the same. If you do not have a life insurance policy but are interested in learning

more information, please contact one of the Board of Advisors for the Zeta Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Yours in the bond, Gregg L. Goss; Zeta Pi #424

Brothers in the bond at Zeta-Pi of Culver Stockton. We need to come together to do our part to aid St Jude.

Our National goal this year is to collect $750.00 for this good cause. Last year we raised $0. WE MUST DO

BETTER, WE MUST DO OUR PART.

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening

diseases. What better cause than this for us to be involved? Did you know that families of children of St Jude

never receive an invoice? Not for treatment, travel, housing or food.

During back-to-back weekends, on Saturday, September 19 and 26, supporters in 58 communities will join

together in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer during September's Childhood Cancer Awareness

Month. All funds raised will support Frater Danny Thomas' lifesaving mission at St. Jude Children's Research

Hospital.

Tau Kappa Epsilon has performed exceptionally well during the event each of the past two years: raising an

impressive $45,000 in 2013 and $80,000 in 2014. Now with another opportunity ahead, we are eager to see

what TKE Nation can accomplish! The Zeta-Pi Chapter is now discussing their involvement in this annual

event and we will have more details on that soon.

We are asking that every Zeta-Pi/MON Frater donate at least $10.00 to this great cause and help Zeta-Pi reach

and exceed our National goal. Make an online contribution by visiting http://events.stjude.org/zetapi

With your help Zeta-Pi will surpass our National goal and give to a charity so deserving.
