2ARDENWelcome to Arden. This booklet details school uniform, this

year’s examination results and the members of our excellentteaching and support staff team.

At Arden we pride ourselves on doing our very best for every studenthelping them achieve their full educational potential as they develop intohappy well rounded young adults of whom we can be very proud.However this is a two way street and in return for doing our best, weexpect every student to match up to the high academic and personalstandards that we set as a pre-requisite of being part of the Arden family.

As a parent, the role you play is also extremely important, the standardsyou maintain at home and the positive conviction with which you supportyour child’s education are hugely important in their success whilst at Arden.We also ask that you support the school’s use of sanctions to maintain ourexcellent ethos and learning environment.

We hope you feel Arden is a place where you children can really flourish,with your help and support we’ll do our very best to see your child reachtheir maximum personal and academic potential whilst also developinginto a happy, successful and well-rounded young adult.

Arden Girls’ School UniformAll requirements and information pertaining to Boy’s uniform also apply to the dress of Arden Girls.

Academic UniformBlazer Bottle Green, complete with pocket badge. A Blazer is compulsory between Years 7 and 11.Tie Only the school tie is acceptable, worn with a tidy knot no more than 40mm across. The tail

must be at least seven stripes in length.Skirt Arden skirt only with ‘A’ embroidered at the top of the skirt. The ‘A’ must be visible. Skirts must

not be rolled up with the overall length no shorter than 40mm above the knee.Trousers Black, straight legged Trouser.

No bootleg, hipsters, flairs or other fashion trousers are acceptable.Socks Ankle Socks in white, black or dark grey.Tights Only black or neutral coloured tights are permitted, no fishnets or patterns are allowable.Blouse White, fully buttoned, including the collar.Shoes Black only, of a solid, traditional style. Low heels are allowed, but no lightweight Fashion

Shoes. Trainers, Pumps or other canvas shoes should not be worn to school, even for medicalreasons (except during PE lessons).

Jumper/Cardigan Years 7-9, Grey with Green or Gold/Green band, Years 10-11, plain Bottle Green.Scarf Plain Black or Bottle Green.Outdoor Students may wear an Overcoat which is completely plain and of a single, restrained colour,

without pattern or obvious motif.Jewellery No jewellery other than a Watch with a plain strap may be worn.

Girls with pierced ears may wear one plain Stud of maximum 3mm diameter in each earlobe.Make-up Make-up and Nail Varnish is not allowed.Hair Long hair should be tied back in practical lessons using plain Bottle Green or Black Slides

or Bands. No extreme hair styles or colours are allowed.Summer Uniform During Summer, girls may wear a Short-Sleeved Blouse with open neck and no Tie;

Cardigans/Jumpers are optional, however, a Blazer must be worn.

Physical Education UniformShoes A pair of clean, laced Trainers of plain design should be kept for indoor/outdoor use only.PE Top* Green open necked aertex style Shirt with short sleeves, and featuring the school logo. Socks Short, white.Shorts Black lycra Cycling Shorts.Leggings Black with ‘Arden’ printed down the left lower leg. Skort* Bottle green, combination shorts/skirt.Fleece* Bottle Green and Gold, optional. Bag Any plain zipped bag (not a plastic carrier bag).Hockey Socks Bottle Green and Gold sock.Shin pads/Gum shield Any. A Gum Shield must be worn for contact sports, unless specific written consent not to

Arden Boys’ School UniformMany institutions require conventional dress. In school that dress code is the School uniform.Students in a smart, clean uniform enhance their own reputations and prospects by enhancingthose of their School. Controlled and sensible behaviour, especially whilst in uniform, shouldalso be regarded as part of the School dress code.The official Arden uniform stockists are Early Years of Shirley and Palmer’s of Knowle. Boththese outlets also offer an embroidery service for adding initials to the outside of PE kit.It is important that all personal belongings that are brought into school are clearlymarked with the owner’s name, preferably on the outside.
