Christin Dickenson returns to lead the Gryphons for a second year after starting the head coaching position at the University of Guelph in May 2013. She joins the Gryphons after spending three seasons with her alma mater, McMaster University, as an assistant coach of the men’s basketball team. She is presently pursuing her Advanced Coaching Diploma with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) after spending two years under the mentorship of Jay Triano, Head Coach of the Canada Basketball Men’s National Team and former Head Coach of the Toronto Raptors. In 2008-2010, Dickenson spent two years as the assistant coach with the University of Regina Women’s Basketball team and helped coach the team to a CIS silver medal and a Canada West conference runner-up finish in her first season. The next year, the Cougars finished as Canada West silver medalists

once again. While in Regina, she also coached the U15 Women’s Team for Basketball Saskatchewan. In 2007-2008, she spent one season as the Head Coach of the University of Waterloo Warriors women’s basketball team. Dickenson also spent time on the women’s basketball coaching staff at McMaster University for a season in 2006-07, earning an OUA runner-up finish. Dickenson’s career as a player started in high school at Westdale Secondary in Hamilton, Ont. where she helped lead her team to a AAAA OFSAA gold medal in 1997. She also played for Team Ontario from 1996-1998 where she won a national title and a silver medal, and later helped coach the team to the National Championships in 2006 and 2007. Playing for the McMaster Marauders for the duration of her four-year university career from 2000-2004, Dickenson was both a two-time team captain and OUA all-star and was named the OUA MVP in her final season. In 2002-2003, Dickenson helped her team win the OUA title. After her playing days at McMaster, she spent two years playing professional basketball in Sweden and England. Dickenson graduated from McMaster University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Science.
