BEIT SHE'AN CAMPUSקמפוס בית שאן
Experimental art and architecture lab
Faculty of Architecture, Technion IIT
It is a conceptual yet practical framework proposalwaiting to be developed and specified.
Beit She'an Campus is a preliminary program.
Urban acupuncture is a s o c i o - e n v i r o n m e n t a l theory that combines con-temporary urban design with the traditional Chi-nese acupuncture.
Just as the practice of acupunc-ture is aimed at relieving stress in the human body, the goal of urban acupuncture is to relieve stress in the built environment. Urban acupuncture is intended to produce small-scale but socially catalytic interventions in the urban fabric.
It uses small-scale interven-tions to transform the larger urban context. Sites are selected through analysis of aggregate social, economic and ecological factors, and are developed through a dia-logue between designers and the community.
