With the rising cost of living, many individuals and families are being forced to choose between the basic necessities of life. Our communities have the ability to thrive and grow if all families are financially stable, a crucial component to a prosperous life.

Good health is essential for a quality life. Whether it’s a neighbor without health insurance, someone struggling with mental illness, or someone needing support due to a life limiting illness United Way is there to ensure everyone has access to the care they need.

A second chance today can be the key to a better tomorrow. From natural disasters, to addictions, to joblessness and abuse, United Way is there with resources to help those who are ready to change for the better and rebuild their lives stronger than before.

We continue to take a strategic approach to community

problem solving that focuses on collaboration and results.

Since April of 2013, Wilder Research has been conducting a

needs assessment on behalf of UWNEMN to determine the

issues surrounding childcare in our communities as well as

early childhood education opportunities available. It is our

intent to use the data collected to leverage funding and

partnerships to improve access to quality, affordable

childcare as well as educational opportunities through the

expansion of current sites moving forward.

Through the fall of 2013, Wilder Research will be collecting

data regarding Veterans residing within our service territory.

Soldiers returning from deployment, along with their

families, are experiencing staggering increases in

depression, unemployment, domestic violence, substance

abuse and divorce. In our communities, service members

returning from deployment are receiving little support locally

that focus on the health and wellbeing needs of Veterans

and their families and Federal support systems are stretched

thin. Through partnerships with local non-profits and local

Veteran’s groups we are confident we will be able to build

effective wrap-around services for our Veterans.Achieving large scale impact in Education, Income, Health and Basic Needs requires a collective effort. Join us, as we work to ensure all families and individuals in our communities have a place to thrive and reach their full potential.
