Judge Bernice Donald, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, is a frequent speaker for the Federal Judicial Center and the Nati onal Judicial College. She previously served on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Judge Donald

was the fi rst African-American woman bankruptcy judge in the U.S. and the fi rst African-American woman judge in Tennessee. She also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Memphis School of Law. Judge Donald will present “Unconscious Bias: The Legal Profession is Not Immune” and she will be a Luncheon Plenary panelist.

Douglas Friednash, Denver City Att orney, was appointed as the legal advisor to Mayor Michael Hancock in August 2011. Prior to this positi on, Mr. Friednash was a shareholder in an internati onal law fi rm handling high profi le public cases and campaign fi nance liti gati on. In 1992, he was elected to the

Colorado House of Representati ves, where he served two terms representi ng Southeast Denver. Prior to this, he also worked in the Colorado Att orney General’s Offi ce-Criminal Enforcement Secti on. Mr. Friednash will be a panelist in the “Engaging White Men” workshop.

Jay Kamlet, Managing Partner, Lathrop & Gage LLP, manages the fi rm’s Denver offi ce and concentrates his practi ce on real estate transacti ons and fi nance, as well as complex real estate loan workouts and restructuring. He represents bank holding companies, REITS, pension funds, corporate and

individual commercial property owners, nati onal credit tenants, and developers in complex real estate development matt ers. The fi rm is a member of CLI’s Inclusiveness Network. He will be a panelist in the “Engaging White Men” workshop.

Caroline Turner, Principal, Diff erenceWorks, LLC, is a workshop facilitator, speaker, consultant and author. She helps leaders create work environments where people feel valued, heard, and included so they and the business can thrive. Ms. Turner

is the author of Diff erence Works: Improving Retenti on, Producti vity and Profi tability through Inclusion. She is the former Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Coors Brewing Company and a former partner in the Denver offi ce of Holme Roberts & Owen. She will present “Do Women Lawyers Pull Up the Ladder?”

Caren Ulrich Stacy, President, Lawyer Metrics LLC, is a noted expert with 20 years of experience in lawyer recruitment, development and diversity. She received the NALP “Mark of Disti ncti on for Professional Development and Training” in 2009 for

her vision, leadership and innovati on. At Lawyer Metrics, she works with a team of experts in quanti tati ve analysis, organizati onal psychology and legal labor markets to employ a metrics-based approach to lawyer selecti on, engagement, training, mentoring, and evaluati ons. Ms. Ulrich Stacy will present “The Rainmaking X Factor.”

Kerry Kotouc, Vice President & General Counsel, Walmart Legal Department, heads three teams, including the Legal Administrati on and External Relati ons team, which focuses on the department’s internal and external diversity eff orts and management of outside law fi rms. Prior

to this positi on, Ms. Kotouc managed tort liti gati on in the liti gati on secti on and also coordinated the legal department’s recruiti ng eff orts, which were instrumental in the formati on of its nati onally recognized legal diversity outreach program. She will be a Luncheon Plenary panelist.

James G. Leipold, Executi ve Director, Nati onal Associati on for Law Placement (NALP), has led the organizati on since 2004. Prior to joining NALP, he worked at the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for fi ve and a half years and was also the Director of Admission at Temple University School of

Law, where he was also an instructor. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Brown University and Temple University School of Law. He speaks and writes frequently on trends in legal employment for recent law school graduates.

Laurie Lieb, Director Law Firm Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, leads PwC’s Law Firm Benchmarking Program. She works closely with the law fi rm consulti ng practi ce of PwC to design surveys, as well as consults with law fi rms on other aspects of law fi rm management. Laurie is well known and

respected in the law fi rm community and speaks frequently on trends in law fi rms based on the results of the PwC Surveys. She will present “What Lawyers can Learn from Accountants About Diversity & Inclusiveness.”

Kevin MacCary, Vice President and General Counsel, United Launch Alliance (ULA) L.L.C., has been with ULA since 2006. He joined ULA from Lockheed Marti n Space Systems Company where he served as counsel responsible for multi ple programs. He also previously served as a military prosecutor

for the U.S. Army, trial att orney in the Contract Appeals Division, and senior reserve legal advisor to NORAD/USNORTHCOM. Mr. MacCary parti cipates in several CLI inclusiveness initi ati ves including the GC/MP Retenti on Roundtable. He will be a panelist in the “Engaging White Men” workshop and the GC Panel.

Randy Miller, Managing Partner, Bryan Cave HRO LLP, manages the fi rm’s Denver offi ce and is one of six members of the fi rm-wide Management Committ ee. Previously, he was the Managing Partner of Holme Roberts & Owen unti l it combined with Bryan Cave in January 2012. Mr. Miller assists clients with

the intersecti on of business and law, and regularly tries cases focused on business disputes and transiti onal periods. The fi rm is a member of CLI’s Inclusiveness Network. Mr. Miller will be a panelist in the “Engaging White Men” workshop.

Dr. Arin N. Reeves, President, Nexti ons LLC, is a nati onal leadership development and inclusiveness expert with nearly 20 years of experience. She has developed and implemented strategic plans and programming on recruitment, retenti on, att riti on, promoti on, mentoring, marketi ng

and client development issues. Her book, The Next IQ: The Next Generati on of Intelligence for 21st Century Leadership discusses new ways of learning, leading and thinking about leadership and inclusion in the workplace. Dr. Reeves will present “Inclusive Leadership = Intelligent Leadership” and moderate the Luncheon Plenary.
