Club News Edition 2 For 2013Hi All,
A great start to the season. Weather was perfect, a little chilly in the morn-
ing though.
We had some great wins over the weekend with our U11, U12, U14 and
U16s all coming away with wins. Our U11 and U16 sides came across new
clubs Sanctuary Lakes and Manor Lakes, we are the first club to defeat them
for 2013. Unfortunately for our U13 side they were moved to A grade from
B grade and came across a very tough competitor. Boys keep your heads up
high and hopefully this will be rectified sooner rather than later.
We congratulate Majak Daw on his first AFL game with North Melbourne,
Majak began his career at our club playing in the U14 age group. He has
come a long way and achieved so much since then. We wish him all the best
for his playing career.
If we could have volunteers to help pack up after the last games on each oval
this would be much appreciated, we need to pack away goal pads, rubbish
bins, chairs etc.
Reminder all fees are to be paid in full prior to taking the field in round 3,
please note unpaid fees may limit your childs match time.
We still have limited Western Bulldogs tickets for this Saturday sitting on
level 1 in the Bulldogs backyards section. Please come and see the girls at
the Atco hut if you would like tickets.
Newsletters will also be available on the website, you do need to become a
member to read them online. We encourage all of you to become members

Please note there is no training on Thursday night due to Anzac Day holiday.
All the best to all teams for the weekend.

Weather fine Track good
The season started well for us with a trip to Albion producing a hard fought victory against good opposition.
As expected the first quarter was physical and tight and we managed to push out to a small lead at qtr time
through some great forward pressure and attacking defense..The second qtr saw the game open up a little but
still physical evidenced by our wounded captain, we managed to kick 3 goals for the quarter but the score-
board showed only a few points in it at the major break. The third qtr we saw things come together, the quick
movement hard running, and tackling and we scored 8 unanswered goals. The final qtr saw the opposition
rally but it was to no avail as we held strong and scored our first win for the season. Congratulations to theteam for a hard fought successful game.

What a great start to the season. We played Point Cook at home. The first half started off slow as we were trying to
ind our feet and come together as a group. The second half saw us get that ball into our forward line more which
resulted in 2 goals being kicked by Xavier and Zack K. We must learn to man up but will continue this at training. I am
very proud of you all for getting in there and doing what was asked of you without hesitation. Well done to all of you
and can't wait to watch you all grow into little superstars.
Thank-you to all the parent helpers for volunteering your time. We are always in need of a helping hand so if you
could lend your time, please see our team manager Michelle on Sunday mornings.
Best - Team effort!
Thanks, Shane.
Under 12s Wyndhamvale 13 - 5 - 83 Def Werribee Centrals 2113
What a fantastic way to start off the season!A round 1 win over Werribee Centrals. We have already matched our total wins for last year.
Today was a great team effort by all, with everyone staying in their positions, running hard, and putting in their sec-
ond efforts. I wont write a story today about all the wonderful things that you all did today, as I have already said it
at the end of the game today.
Now it is time to put our heads down and concentrate on this weeks game. I believe that if we work hard enough and
stick to our guns another win might just be around the corner.
Best On Ground: Every single on of you.
Goals: Vinny 6. Lauchy 3, Arden 2, Jake.S 1, Little Dekky 1.
Thanks Boys!

Our second game as Falcons, saw a few new faces again. Playing Jacana out there was another first for
his group and we were all very keen to see how we performed.Unlike last week we took control in the first quarter with the wind and were never headed.Plenty of hard running from everyone saw us move the ball quickly and with purpose. Our skill level wasup from last week, as was our tackling and this proved to be the difference all day.The backline worked hard to make clean possessions difficult for Jacana, while there was plenty of spaceup forward to move into.We must continue to improve each week to stay competitive and build towards our future.Great team effort.

Under 16s WYNDHAMVALE V MANOR LAKES
A good win this week against one of the competitions new clubs. Kicking against a strong wind in the first quarter
we managed to put on 3.2 to their 4 goals but the game was virtually over in the second when we piled on 11 goals.
Good work by those in the backline kept the opposition scoreless, the boys down back ran the ball out every time
Manor Lakes mounted an attack. The third was probably our worst, we were held scoreless and let them kick 5.5, we
werent really accountable in the quarter and let their players run free.. We stepped it up again in the 4th and played
better team footy putting on 11.5. It was pleasing to see the way we worked together and shared the ball around. Itwas also good to see the new boys to the club (Luke, Dani, Jhosh, Chase, Paday, Stefan & Coco) and the boys who
have come back to the club (Rocket, Jacko, Boof & Kochy) all performing well.
We have a real good mix of players this season with just about everyone being versatile enough to play in different
positions. This will be the key to having a good season.
We still have a lot of hard work to do especially regarding our accountability. We have to remember when the oppo-
sition gain possession we must make sure we cover loose players and not ball watch. Our talk is still not at a level I
would like but it is improving.
t is important we stay focused and not get ahead of ourselves after one good win.
We have a big test next up against Spotswood so we need to keep working hard at training and keep the enthusiasm
up.
Also boys, you made history by being the first Wyndhamvale team to knock off a Manor Lakes side.
Wyndhamvale 24 - 11 - 165 Manor Lakes 9 - 5 - 59
Best :- Jhosh (pizza award), Rocket, Mozza, Jason, Carlos, Stefan, Monty, Kochy
Goals :- Jhosh 11, Stefan 4, Huss, Rocket, Kochy 2, Daniel, Matt R, Ayor.
NOTE TO PARENTS :- We need volunteers each week to enable the team to play, if you can help out please
come and see us before each game as I dont want to have to bring in a roster.
Also the club needs volunteers in the canteen during home games. If you are able to give some time either before the
game, at half time or after the game it would be greatly appreciated (even if it is only 15 minutes). Please see the la-
dies in the canteen if you are able to help.

We saw a wonderful game of footy on sunday with both teams coming out hard. Our boys had a terrific first quarterkicking the first four goals of the game, taking advantage of a very strong breeze.
Sanctuary Lakes then came out in the second quarter, kicking three goals in about five minutes making the coach
very nervous. However, our boys dug in hard only allowing the opposition one more goal for the quarter.
The second half was a great contest with both teams not willing to give away any easy opportunities to break the
game open. Our last quarter was probably the most pleasing with the ball being in our forward half for most of the
quarter, despite the strong breeze. The boys also managing to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
A nasty incident toward the end of the quarter saw one of our players come off with the blood rule, however this
only saw our boys bond together and finish out the game strong.
GOALS- Griffo 3, Jordy 2, Tyson 1, Binga 1.
