Merida 2013 MTB Full Suspension2013 heralds a revolution for Merida’s Full Suspension bikes……

With more innovative engineering, design and construction than ever before.

There are 4 completely new suspension platforms, and an all new and exclusive VPK suspension system, you can expect to see more than just our race winning 26” and 29er hardtails tearing up the trails this season.

Whether it be the devastating One-Sixty VPK equipped bike, or the UK friendly One-Forty trail-centre destroyer, through to the all-new Big 99 FS bike. We have the perfect suspension system and a stunning complete full suspension bike for you.

Our engineers have paired relevant suspension technologies for each travel category to optimise your riding experience and enjoyment and deliver more smiles per mile.

At the end of the day that’s why we love this sport as much as you do.

One-Sixty Rapidly becoming the go-to option for those who like to ride the gnarl of the Scottish Highlands/the Lakes, or the lift accessed trails of Alpine Europe.

The all new One-Sixty VPK suspension platform pedals like a shorter travel bike even with the shock fully open, and then destroys everything in its path like a mini-downhill bike.

ISCG mounts and internal routing for all cabling including Hydraulic dropper post plus post-mount rear disc mounts for 180mm rotors, and the obligatory tapered steerer headtube.

Lightweight, pedalable and yet big-mountain capable – this is the new benchmark machine for the enduro/light free-ride set.

Shares the same awesome One-Sixty chassis with its bigger brother the 3000D but this time with an SLX/XT component spec to deliver maximum performance and enjoyment without unnecessarily straining your bank balance. 160mm of travel is tamed by a Fox Float Rear shock and SR’s top of the range Durolux model up front. Mountain taming performance in a stunning value for money package.

One-FortyThe staple Merida full suspension model gets a make-over and then some………again we utilise our all new 2013 VPK suspension platform and again it is optimised to perform perfectly in this do-it-all suspension category.

Pedalling performance is second to none as is small bump response/traction.

Point the bike downhill having breezed the uphill, and this machine eats up technical trail features maintaining its composure in a way that belies its 140mm travel.

The final platform in the all – new VPK category delivers what we expect to become benchmark suspension performance to perhaps the largest potential audience.

Go get the VPK performance edge – and rule the trails.

SLX based group mated with winning suspension performance from Fox tuned exclusively to complement our 140mm VPK suspension platform. A KS Dropper seat post clearly signals this bikes downhill aspirations/capabilities. If you want a willing partner in crime to destroy technical trails either at a trail centre or out in the wilds. Or if you simply like the reassurance of having just over 6 inches of travel underneath you when the going gets rough – then this is the bike for you.

One-TwentyLight enough to race with enough travel to tame all but the gnarliest rock gardens, these bikes have proven to be hugely popular for keen MTB trail riders.

Featuring, Merida Optimised Ride Engineering (M.O.R.E.) to optimise suspension performance frame size by frame size.

The 120mm platform delivers full travel in a composed and supple way without harsh bottom out or undue influence from pedalling.

Stunning sculptural lines and clever design have minimised frame weight to just 2.5kg and maximised suspension performance and durability.

Ninety-Nine The replacement for the legendary Ninety-Six full suspension XC race bike and the first suspension platform to be optimised for modern 2x10 Transmissions.

Uber-lightweight thanks to cutting edge carbon design and canny engineering features like a shared lower shock-mount and main pivot cunningly designed to remain in-situ even when the lower shock mount is de-coupled.

It would take a mighty effort to unseat an undisputed world-beater like the Ninety-Six from its throne, but having ridden the Ninety-Nine I believe the Merida engineers may just have done it.

A no expense spared team bike from its ultra light innertubes to its full SRAM XX group dripping with Carbon and Titanium fixings as standard. Pro-favoured features like a BB30 bottom bracket shell deliver a low Q-Factor and team sponsor PRC Components compliment this with their superlight carbon monorail seat-post design. There is no faster way to make rapid progress off-road.

Big 99 Clearly inspired by the devastatingly effective Ninety-Nine model, but using totally new tube profiles custom engineered to deal with the unique stresses a 29er full suspension bike manages out on the trail.

The result? 106mm of super smooth rear wheel travel with a super-stiff and playful frame design that urges you to go fast, and exhibits none of the shortcomings 29ers are alleged to suffer from (poor form in slow speed technical

trails).

Quite the opposite in fact – this bike airs and manuals with aplomb and encourages carving progress on even the most technical trails.

A Carbon front triangle designed from the ground up with cross-sections designed to enhance ride quality and torsional stiffness to reach “best-in-class” standing. A custom valved DT Swiss 212 rear shock plus the omnipresent Fox 32 front fork, deliver trail-taming traction and control in spades. Whilst the XT transmission, super-light Carbon Seat post and Maxxis Crossmark Tyres ensure comfortable, fast-rolling progress off-road.

Shimano SLX gearing, Fox Fork, DT Swiss rear shock – it is almost a case of “why pay more”. Of course there are more expensive bikes in the range, but this machine is a more than capable race/marathon/trail bike at a price that will not see a Decree Nisi coming your way from the wife’s solicitor!
