Time penalty begins 8:00:01 pm. After 8:00:00 pm there will be a 20-point per minute penalty for being late. "Minutes" will be rounded up at one second past the key time. For example, 8:00:01 (one second past 8:00 pm) will be counted as 1 minute late. Any rider who arrives after 10:00:00 pm (beginning 10:00:01 pm) will not be considered a rally finisher.

Bonus listings will be handed out at 6:00 am Friday, July 5, 2013, for the next leg of the rally. Riders may depart upon receipt of paperwork.

Robert McLaughlin, a pioneer of the Canadian vehicle industry, was born in the family homestead on this property. In 1869 he established the McLaughlin Carriage Works at Enniskillen, which expanded rapidly and eventually became the largest carriage-works in the British Empire. In 1907 the McLaughlin Motor Car Company was formed and the following year began to assemble some of the earliest automobiles produced in Canada. The company became General Motors of Canada in 1918.

On July 15, 1864, and Erie Railroad train carrying 833 Confederate prisoners and 128 Union guards to the prison camp at Elmira, N.Y., collided with a coal train between Shohola and Lackawaxen. About 48 prisoners and 17 guards were killed. Survivors, both injured and uninjured, were brought to Shohola where they were generously cared for by residents of the village.
