Organization, Inc. (ARTrustTM) finds treatments and cures for the millions of people suffering from allergies, asthma and other

immunologic diseases by supporting education and research.

Since the inception of the ARTrust/ERT in 1993 through 2013, we have

granted 85 awards totaling more than $5.19 million:

The ARTrust™ has accomplished a great deal this past year and I thank you. Without your individual contributions, it would not be possible to sustain our mission of supporting the training of physicians and research in our specialty to advance optimal care. We supported a number of grants this year and plan to do more in the coming year.

The ARTrust Steering Committee has worked, along with staff, to grow the culture of engagement and giving to the ARTrust. Investments this past year exceeded our expectations and the total corpus is now $11,710,355. We are excited to report three additional ARTrust: Investing Together in our Future Lectureships: Dr. William and Judith H. Busse, Phil and Barbara Lieberman, and William T. Shearer and Lynn Des Prez. These lectureships acknowledge and celebrate recent gifts with a total lifetime collaborative contribution of over $100,000. The Lieberman lectureship is the first of $250,000 and will be presented for 10 years. We are grateful for the example of these three families and thank all of their friends that helped in this effort. Proudly, they join the families and friends of Donald Y. M. Leung, MD PhD FAAAAI, Richard F. Lockey, MD FAAAAI, and Anjuli Seth Nayak, MD FAAAAI who are also celebrated with these lectures. Please personally thank them for setting the standard.

The result of your investments is that the ARTrust supported 13 awards in 2013, including one new Faculty Development Award, the first Hope APFED/ARTrust™ Pilot Grant Award, one ongoing Gail Shapiro Clinical Faculty Award, two ongoing Faculty Development Awards, and eight new “Mini” grants in 2013. The ARTrust Steering Committee is enthusiastic about growing partnership opportunities to enhance our research support. We are proud to report that the ARTrust has provided over $5 million since 1993 to support research and education in our specialty.

I thank all of you, our friends in industry, the ARTrust Steering Committee and our staff for making $5 million in grants possible. We should be proud but recognize there is much to do. Investing Together in Our Future is a way for you to show personal commitment to advancing optimal patient care, not just for now but for years to come. 2013 ARTrust Mini Grant Recipients

Supporting the A/I SpecialtyIn 2013, the ARTrust continued its mission of increasing funding and support for allergy/immunology education, research and training through awarding eight new Mini grants. Minis are small seed grants provided to fund projects that advance the knowledge and/or treatment of allergy, asthma and immunology for clinical or research projects, new educational initiatives for professional and public audiences, other research including equipment needs, supplemental funding, and FIT projects. The creation of the Minis allows the ARTrust to expand its reach even further.
