Greater Spokane Incorporated is working to build a strong economy in the Spokane region and the Inland Northwest.

Build national awareness of Spokane as the premier place to do business.
Provide exceptional services to enable business start-up, expansion, and relocation to the region.
Enhance regional livability through advocacy for transportation, education, healthcare, public safety, and recreational opportunities.
Position the region for economic expansion by partnering to establish a highly educated and technically skilled workforce, and responding to employer needs.
Recruit exceptional leadership to the Board and to the staff.

• AIR Spokane Support expansion of local companies, recruit new aerospace firms, conduct a supply chain study, support sector education projects, and assist the Washington Aerospace Partnership to retain Boeing’s 777X production.
• Health Science Initiative Advocate for expansion of medical school enrollment, develop a full-scale bioscience marketing initiative, conduct with partners the Graduate Medical Education Scenario Analysis to grow the number of residency slots in the region.
• Regional Education Attainment Advance education attainment, expand GSI’s career
awareness work, and partner with United Way on Cradle to Career, Spokane STEM on K-12 and higher education programs, and with Priority Spokane on middle school attainment and health inequities related to education.
Key Board Objectives
• Spokane County Port District Conduct a public opinion poll to gauge the public’s understanding and support, launch a public awareness campaign based on the survey results, formalize the port district proposal, and schedule the ballot item.
• Fairchild Air Force Base Partner to pass the County’s ballot issue to buy land and relocate residents from Fairchild’s Accident Potential Zone to reduce encroachment, advocate for Fairchild AFB to be the second base for assigning the KC-46A tankers, prepare our defense during a possible BRAC process, and collaborate with other WA military bases.
• North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Gain $750M for completion of the NSC from Francis to I-90. Advocate to local and state legislators prior to the Session for the NSC as the State’s only other freight mobility corridor. Ensure that Spokane is heavily represented in Olympia during the Session.
Economic DevelopmentAttract and support new and current business investment in
the region resulting in a diverse and strong economic base, leading to new well-paying careers.
• Growjobslocallybysupportingtheexpansionandretentionof local businesses and outreach to 400 local businesses.
• BringnewopportunitiestoSpokanebytargetingtwo‘signature logo’ prospects and two national headquarters.
• Generate100qualifiedleads,fourbusinesswins,500newjobs,and$118millioninannualeconomicimpact.
• FacilitatethegrowthofinternationaltradeinSpokane• Workwithpartnerstoexpandandmarketportfolioof
CertifiedSites.•Leadtheresearch,dialogueandpublicawarenessaround
implementing a county-wide Port District to support jobs and economic growth.
