The University of Louisville’s athletic symbol, chosen sometime after 1913, is a Cardinal.

The Cardinal bird was chosen to give UofL statewide identification, since the Cardinal is the state bird of Kentucky. The school colors — cardinal red and black — were adopted at the suggestion of Mrs. John L. Patterson. In printing terms, the UofL color for red is PMS 485. All of the University of Louisville’s present logos are trade marked.

In his senior year, he scored a season-high 40 points vs. John Jay and totaled 37 points, seven rebounds and four steals as Shaker Heights beat Garfield Heights in the district title game.

Averaged 18.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a junior as Shaker Heights won nine of its last 13 games en route to a 14-8 record.

Had 10 points and three steals for his USA Midwest team in a 99-93 victory over Canada in the champion-ship game of the 2011 Nike Global Challenge, which featured the top high school and under 19 players from top international teams.

MVP of the White team in the 2012 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic all-star game after totaling 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. He also finished second in the dunk and three-point contests.

Originally signed with the Cardinals before spending last season at Hargrave Military Academy. He had also considered attending Cincinnati, Illinois, West Virginia and Cleveland State before initially signing with the Cardinals.

Cousin of former UofL center Zach Price.

Personal: Born March 17, 1994 ... Son of Eugenia Tucker and

Terry Rozier ... Middle of three children (J’maine, Tre’dasia) ... Major is sport administration.

Personal goal at UofL is to be the AAC freshman player of the year.

Best moment of his athletic career to date was scoring 69 points when his team was playing in Louis-ville last year.

Enjoys dancing and shopping in his spare time. Chose to attend UofL because “it has been my dream

school since the sixth grade and because of Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino!”

Best basketball advice given to him was “your family is starving and opponents are in your way. Take them out so your family won’t have to struggle any more.”

Most proud of “my little brother for staying on track.” His high school coach Danny Young has had the great-

est influence on his athletic career. When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he

was Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady. Few people know that he is scared of squirrels and can’t

sleep without a fan. Chose to wear number zero to “start all over. Everything

in the past means nothing.” If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you

would notice is his Dwyane Wade jersey hanging. Among reality shows, he feels he would fare best on

The Game. Best thing about being a Cardinal is the fans. What impresses him the most about Coach Pitino: his

power, which reminds him of his dad. Would most like to meet God.
