Welcome!Dear ILC Participants, On behalf of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, it is our pleasure to welcome you to Korea for this very important International Leadership Conference being convened on the occasion of the first anniversary of the passing of UPF’s Founder, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. The ILC is sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation in partnership with the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Women’s Federation for World Peace. The ILC has as its theme, “Building a Nation of Peace: The Significance of the Life, Teachings and Legacy of Sun Myung Moon.” Nearly 250 delegates have gathered from throughout the world, a highly selective group that includes former heads of state, parliamentarians and other government leaders, religious leaders, women leaders, media, business and civic leaders. We believe your participation in this important conference will help assure its success. Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon dedicated his entire life to building a world of universal peace, one global family under God. Grounded in a deep and loving relationship with God, he developed a profoundly insightful and meaningful spiritual understanding that has transformed the lives of millions of people around the world. His vision includes not only the world of the spirit, but applies to all areas of human endeavor, including the family, society, government, business, academia, the arts, and sports. The ILC, being convened on the anniversary of his passing, provides an opportunity to engage in an in-depth exploration of his ideas, teachings and life course, and to consider their applicability to all spheres of life. Developing Father’s Moon’s concept of cheonilguk, a unified nation of peace, the ILC will give special attention to the ideal of building a “nation of peace” through good families, good citizenship, good governance and interfaith cooperation.

With this in mind, the ILC provides a golden opportunity for us to come together as an international and interreligious group of leaders from various sectors, to reflect on the “life, teachings and legacy” of UPF’s Founder, and to share our own experience, wisdom and insight for the sake of building nations of peace and prosperity.
