Denim is getting more and more conscious. And sustainable. While the World Water Day 2013, organized by the

United Nations, has recently sensitized the world to the importance of this vital resource, the denim industry too

makes its concrete commitment to sustainability known during the meeting ‘Denim and Supply Chain Transpa-

rency: an Eco-sustainable Answer’.

Some protagonists of denim production get together and state that a change not only can, but must be made.

The meeting belongs to the series ‘The Professionals of Fashion’, coordinated by Fabiana Giacomotti – Professor

lifestyle, where fashion and sustainability can coexist. Together with them, communication agency Menabò –

partner of Leo Burnett illustrates how industry can express this new eco-awareness to the final consumer.

The workshop has allowed to look to the future of fashion, and so understand how the denim sector is getting

prepared to answer the ever more urgent call for responsibility.

Our Garments

The coming FW13-14 collection draws its inspi-ration from the warm autumn colors, expressive of the changing nature and earth. The guiding thread is a play of mingling colors, faded browns combining with yellow hues to evoke the bark of trees, or grada-tions of green color that recall the nuances of undergrowth.

Haikure’s ideal consumer is modern, attentive to details and distinguished, careful about the quality of materials and yet casual, loving comfort without giving up style.

And then other effects, such as the ‘paint brush’ or ‘drop’ ones, and all that you can obtain by mixing various brown hues typical of the autumnal season.

Eco-sustainabilityHaikure is at the cutting edge. It’s what the latest fashion trends express, and constantly looks to the future while respecting the present, a real eco-fashion brand committed to ensuring the total sustainability of its collections. Haikure garments are made with the highest respect for nature and people, using production processes and means suitable for minimizing the environmental impact.

ORGANIC COTTONThe production of cotton through biological, sometimes even biodynamic farming, relies on natural methods and substances that won’t harm the environment. The use of GMO seeds is avoided.

In this view, the production of organic cotton implies:

1. The use of fertilizers derived from animal or vegetable matter;2. The elimination of parasites by means of beneficial insects;3. The removal of weeds by tractors, hoes or by hand.4. The exclusive use of seeds that have gone through four germinations at least and without any chemical treatments.

During the weaving, dyeing, finishing etc. no substances with environmental impact are used: so heavy metals and aryl ammines are forbidden in dyestuffs, as well as formaldehyde and plastic resins for finishing. The white fabric is obtained by using peroxide and so avoiding any whiteners or bleaching solutions. The production of biological cotton provides relevant advantages for the final quality of fabrics. Among others, the fact that biological cotton won’t cause any allergies, is nontoxic and favours the natural perspiration of the skin.

Italian Cuisine

Food & Resturant

We of haikure promote a sustainable lifestyle, so we also support consumers with regard to biological food.

Biological cooking, as the name suggests, uses only and exclusively biological foodstuffs and ingredients, trea-ted according to certain standards, that is grown without any pesticides or chemicals, and based on the seaso-nal products offered by nature. A way of eating that is surely healthy and with no side effects, really suitable for everybody.

When we hear people talk about biological cooking, we easily associate it with good eating and healthy food, which are the typical qualities of the renowned Mediterranean diet, for which Italy has always held an outstan-ding and leading position worldwide.Biological cooking has a close link with the concept of health. In fact, today choosing wholesome principles at table is important to prevent certain illnesses, just based on daily consumption of specific naturally grown foods, which are obviously cooked in a not less healthy way. So biological cooking proposes its way to prepare and cook food, with an eye to using many of those foodstuffs that aren’t common in traditional cooking, for example soya beans, seitan, tofu, kamut and all of those biological products displayed on supermarket shelves, which we often look at with curiosity, but we’d also need to know how best to use them and according to what recipe.

Wine Bar & Disco

We are in Milan, and the heart of each big city is the nightlife going on there. Now let’s just mention some of the hottest disco bars: Bicocktail, Baialuna, cubeba, Masquenada, First Floor, G Lounge and Bobino.

A refined look is the special characteristic of the Club, as you can see from the dark brown leather sofas and wooden as well as wrought-iron details, which, combined with the dark shade of the walls, make it a very special place for relaxing and having fun.Early in the evening you can have a rich aperitif, buffet and a corner for fried dishes both Italian and oriental, grilled food, kebab and pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. Choice selections of wines and spirits are ready to be served by professional barmen. The Bobino Club is the place to enjoy your time with your friends after a stressful day, in a selected environment, from the aperitif to dinner and after dinner, with DJ Set by Povia playing commer-cial music or 80 & 90’s music revival in the background.
