The Brief | Week 8 2012 | 1 From the Editors Reading week is over and it is time to get back to classes after a relaxing two week break. For those of us who spent these two weeks catching up with all the assigned readings- We commend you as the most diligent 10% of our faculty in using reading week for what it was designed for, instead of sleeping in until 2pm and spending 3 hours on the same page of readings. Alternatively some spent reading week casually browsing Facebook with an unattended Austlii tab open to make themselves feel better, followed up with a fresh word document entitled “Assignment” and feeling intensely smug after taking that first big step to get the word count all the way from zero to one (name and student number not included) On a serious note there are many firm presentations and the UNSW Careers Fair on the 27 th of April, as well as Twilight Drinks on the 8 th of May. Don’t miss your chance to suit up/dress up and impress the firm representatives with your suaveness and acute intellect! Are you interested in taking part in the next Odyssey program? Linkz is now accepting applications for the mid-year program and we are looking for enthusiastic people to join the team! The Odyssey program is a great opportunity for volunteers to build their personal and professional skills while also gaining first-hand knowledge of Indigenous Australian culture. While the program is open to people of all ages and skill levels it has been designed with University students in mind and would suit someone with an interest in Indigenous culture and affairs. Selected volunteers will undertake a 2-4 week placement in the Northern Territory or Western Australia over the mid-year break (June/July). During this placement, volunteers will

have the opportunity to work as a small team to deliver sport and recreation activities in a remote Indigenous community. For further details, including dates can be found in the attached application package and form. (P.S. - did you know we are now on Facebook? Find us here!) OFFICIAL ARC BOARD ELECTIONS
