Marsha Neumyer, BS, RVT, FSDMS, FSVU, FAIUM
Together we will take a fun journey through the past and into the present and catch a glimpse of the future of the sonography profession. During the journey, we’ll explore the hills, the valleys and some of the rocky roads that brought our profession to its current place in the medical field. Along the way, we will capture a vision of what the future might have in store.
General Session 10:40 am – 11:30 amSonographer & Physicians Relations: A Working Partnership for Patient Care
Beverly Hashimoto, MD Winslow “Ted” Whitten, BA, RDMS, RVT
This plenary session will address the unique relationship between clinically practicing sonographers and the physicians with whom they work. Sonographers apply independent professional judgment to adapt the diagnostic medical examination to optimize examination results. Results of the ultrasound examination are then provided to the physician in either written or oral form as preliminary findings. Both parties, physician and sonographer, are dependent on each other performing their clinical responsibilities in a competent and thorough manner to insure the best possible care for their patients.
