PowerPoint may not automatically set theimported slides properly in the template,

except for some elements.

Please find, in the forthcoming slides,

examples of various issues you may faceand how to solve them.

Font color of the title in the new template

When you copy a slide from the actual template to the new one, the color of thetitle and the layout will change automatically, but you may have color issue.

Font color of the title in the new template (contd)

Every PowerPoint template uses acolor palette. The color of the title in

the actual template is the fourth color

in the palette:

When the slide is pasted in the newtemplate, it picks the fourth color, which

is Tan.




How to apply the new layout and colors

To apply the new layout & colorsproperly, go to Layoutselect the

appropriate layout.

The slide will be automaticallyadapted in the new selected layout.

To put all the elements in placeright

click on the thumbnail of the slide

click on Reset Slide




Colors may change

Any object that is set in a color from the original decke.g. Accent 5 from thepalette, will pick the similar positioned color in the new templatethe color of the

objects may change. These colors need to be manually changed, in needed.

Changing the footer

Steps to solve this:To change the footer, go to View

Slide master

Select the Master slide (at the top of

the list) Click on the footer

Presentation Title | Date and change

the text

Things to remember

Text, graphs, objects, or tables placed in a placeholder in their respective deckswill form the same shape when placed in the template and set to similar layout.

Font style, size, Bold, Italics, Underline may or may not remain the same after

pasting in the template.

When a slide with no particular placeholder is pasted into the template, its better

to select the Master Title Only layout and reset it to get all the elementspertaining to the template intact.

Whenever a slide from another deck is placed into the new template, it copies

its layout too, please ensure to apply one of the new layout.

Footer information gets copied too when copying slides from a different

template. You can change it by applying the layout from the template.
