Responsible Tourism
We take our responsibility to the environment seriously, and you can
download a copy of our full eco policy from our website. Our tours are carbon
balanced since we offset all our business carbon emissions using the using the
Carbon Balance Programme of theWorld Land Trust.
In addition to offsetting our own carbon emissions through Carbon
Balance, we support the work of the World Land Trust in their Brazilian Atlantic
Rainforest Project, saving tropical forests and creating wildlife reserves. Each
year for every guest on one of our all-inclusive tours we make a donation to save
200m2 of rainforest, whilst for our every guest on one of our day tours we make
a donation to save 50m2 of rainforest. These rainforest acres help to reduce the
negative environmental impact of our guests travel to Orkney. Our yearly
donation certificates are displayed on our website, and in the three years weve
been participating in the scheme we have saved 15 acres o f threatened
rainforest.
We would encourage you to consider offsetting the carbon emissions
caused by your travel to Orkney by using a recognised carbon offset scheme such
as that provided by the Carbon Balance Programme of the World Land Trust
