Swim lesson level descriptions

SwIM LESSOn REgIStRAtIOn FAQ'SPlease be sure you are registering for the correct level. Transfers between classes will be made only if space is available. Our lessons fill quickly!

What level should I sign my child up for?We strongly recommend you have your child tested to determine the proper level (recommended for Otter level and higher; lower-skilled lessons are usually based on the child’s age). FREE testing is done at any open swim.

I want to sign my child up for multiple sessions . How do I determine what to register them for when I don’t know if they will pass until the end of the first session? This can be a difficult decision. If you sign your child up for the wrong class, transfers can only be made on a space-available basis. We recommend you register your child for both sessions of the same level (example: Penguin for first and second sessions). Since lower level lessons always reach enrollment capacity more rapidly than upper levels, if you have registered your child as a

Penguin for first session and an Otter for second, but Penguin skills are not successfully mastered, there likely will not be space to repeat that class during second session. Our instructors are always able to work with swimmers with advanced skills, so even if they retake a level they have passed, they will continue to learn and increase skills.

Will my child’s registration be changed if they pass or don’t pass a class? No. The only time your child’s swim lesson registration will be changed is if you call the Lacey Parks office and request that we do so.

What if a class is full? This happens often but don’t be discouraged, we often add classes. If you are registering online you can add yourself to the waitlist or call our office.
