Assessment FrameworkSFIA, the Skills Framework for the Information Age is the assessment framework for the iAwards 2012 Individual Categories

SFIA was created by the founders of the SFIA Foundation, a not for profit organisation whose purpose was to provide a common reference model for the identification of the skills needed to develop effective business information systems and which was easily understood by those within business. The ACS adopted the SFIA framework to underpin its Certification Program introduced in 2010.  The ACS Certification Program is designed to demonstrate both the attainment of professional skills and experience as well as their currency in certified members of the ACS.  SFIA has also been used by many  corporations internationally to both assist in recruitment of staff and their retention and career management. The broad acceptance in Australia and internationally of SFIA, the iAwards has chosen to use the SFIA framework to help assess the merits of nominations in each of the individual awards categories in 2012.

Winner’s Story2011 CIO of the Year Michael Harte, CBA

Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Michael Harte says winning the CIO of the Year gong at last year’s iAwards was an unexpected accolade. “It’s one thing to get an award from a banking industry body, but quite another to get one from the computer industry,” Harte says. “It’s particularly gratifying.”

ACS president Anthony Wong remarked. “Michael leads his team to improve customer experience…and has set a new benchmark for the Australian banking and ICT industries.”
