Practice Situations
![Page 75: 2012 Co-Facilitator Training](https://reader031.fdocuments.in/reader031/viewer/2022011717/56816949550346895de0dc64/html5/thumbnails/75.jpg)
Carrie is a self-advocate and Ben is the director of the national organization. They are both on the state team. Ben says something that hurts Carrie’s feelings; however Ben didn’t realized how it could have hurt her feelings. In front of the group, Carrie tells Ben that her feelings are hurt and she starts to cry.
• What can you do as co-facilitators to help Carrie, Ben and the team resolve the situation?
![Page 76: 2012 Co-Facilitator Training](https://reader031.fdocuments.in/reader031/viewer/2022011717/56816949550346895de0dc64/html5/thumbnails/76.jpg)
When you first get into the room, you noticed that all of the self- advocates are sitting together on one side of the room, and everyone else is sitting on the other side as far apart as you can get.
• What steps can you take to get the team working together from the very beginning?
![Page 77: 2012 Co-Facilitator Training](https://reader031.fdocuments.in/reader031/viewer/2022011717/56816949550346895de0dc64/html5/thumbnails/77.jpg)
You and your co-facilitator are facilitating one of the state teams. One of the members came up with the idea that you really hate.
• What should you do?
