Meaning: “Do not create mischief in the land after it has been set in order. Pray to Him with fear and hope. Surely the mercy of Allah is always close to those who do good to others”.

Meaning: “Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon).”



The Founder of Scouting, Lord Baden Powell, has said about environment:

“Environmental study will show you how full of beautiful and wonderful things God has made the world for you to enjoy. […] Try and leave this world a little better than you found it…”

How do we overcome these conflicts?…thru educationEdu is very important in human’s

civilization (makes and improves life: status and standard)

Edu is experience in FORMAL (classroom) and INFORMAL (others)

Environmental Education (EE) can be either or both.



WORDS ON EEWORDS ON EEThe term came with many names like Nature Study, Outdoor Education, Outdoor Learning; Outdoor Recreation; Adventure Education; Adventure Therapy; Camping; Conservation Education, Community Education, Environmental Management Education, Environmental Education, …

Near 50 words are used as a synonym either each, single, or combination to indicate Environmental Education (Hungerford 1980; 1983; Disinger 1985/86; Arbaat 1992; 2006;)

These goals are practiced in education, either FORMAL or/and INFORMAL.

Goals are revised, enhanced, and elaborated thru conferences by UNESCO.

EE Movement for ScoutsScouting's purpose is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

EE Approach in Scouting adopts holistic approach

Informal education plays complementary role to the formal education in school.

The informal is another way of learning but should utilize all goals as recommended by UNESCO

It recognizes that it can only make a contribution to the young people.

It will promote the Earth to be the best and suitable environment for us to live.
