The Consciousness Society; a non-linear approach to the quality of life at global scale

Societatea Industrial a reprezentat un punct de cotitur n evoluiaumanittii. Bazat pe cunotiinedin ce n ce mai avansate despre fenomene i procese fizice i chimice, creativitatea umana a generat o lumede artefacte, capabile mai nti s externalizeze munca fizic pentru ca apoi s o amplifice la un nivel greu deimaginat cu cteva secole nainte. Structurarea treptat a unei scri de valori bazatepe eficien,productivitate, posesie a unor valori materiale, luptapentru o poziie n ierarhia societii industriale aimprimat caracteristici specifice mentalitii Omului. Specializareaprofesional din ce n ce mai ngust,exacerbarea valorilor materiale n detrimentul celor specific umane (art, cultur, spiritualitate), diminuareacapacitii de comunicare la nivelul unor grupuri multidisciplinare, sunt consecine ale aplicarii paradigmeiindustriale, paradigm n care Omul este considerat a fi: Resurs. Motorul economiei n aceasta societateesenial materialist este, aa cum l definea Nicolas Georgescu Roegen (printele bioeconomiei ): plcereaOmului de a tri. Pe masur ce tehnologia o permite, din ce n ce mai multe produse, majoritatea inutiledezvoltrii spirituale a omului, devin tentatii la care acesta nu poate rezista, generandu-se astfel o curs aconsumului cu evoluie exponenial.
Apariia primei unelte capabile s stocheze i s amplifice fora intelectual a omului: Calculatorul,induce o nou dimensiune evoluei umanitii. Dac n societatea industrial resursa era cea material,geografic structurati limitat, n noua societate resursa devine Informaia (nontangibil, nelimitat,delocalizat). Societatea informaional induce la rndu-i mutaii majore n paradigma industrial, mutaii ceamplific la cote neimaginate capacitatea de producie, de transport, de consum n general: dematerializareaproduselor, delocalizarea muncii, globalizare. Apariia i dezvoltarea Inteligenei Artificiale, provoacdirect i indirect omenirea, crend pentru prima data problema nesustenabilitii omenirii i a vieii la scarplanetar.
Pe de alt parte ns, dezvoltarea Tehnologiei Informaiei i a Comunicaiilor impune o alt viziuneasupra Realitii, bazata pe o triadontologic: Informaie-Energie-Materie ce deschide o perspectivconceptual nou. Dublat de creterea capacitii de procesare i modelare computaional, aceast nouviziune conduce, ntr-o perioad extrem de scurt de timp, la strpungeri conceptuale i definiri de noi
modele, tehnologii i tehnici de investigare i cercetare bazate pe aa numita abordare neliniar. Dincolode fizica cuantic, apar pe rnd: Teoria Sistemelor Disipative, Teoria Haosului determinist, TeoriaCatastrofelor, Sinergetica,geometria Fractal, fizica Constructal, Automatele celulare, Algoritmiigenetici, Teoria Reelelor neurale, Viaa artificial. Acest ansamblu de concepte, modele i tehnici deinvestigare, numit generic: tiina Complexittii,permite o reevaluare a interaciunilor dintre sistemele vii inevii, asigurnd cadrul conceptual pentru abordarea tiinific a unor probleme subtile precum Contiin,natura profund a Vieii, menirea Omenirii. Dincolo de metafore sau descrieri ale unor intuiii, bazaconceptual actual permite repunerea n discuie a naturii fiinei Umane, a rolului Omului n geostaziaplanetei Pmnt. Problema Omului devine astfel o problem central. Identificarea i asigurarea nevoilorsale profunde, dincolo de cele materiale, dezvoltarea unei viei sufleteti i spirituale, reformulareasistemului educaional i de sntate din aceste noi perspective, devin obiective fundamentale. Putem spune
c tensiunea global indus de criza economic, finaniciar, social, de mutaiile climatice etc., suntmanifestri ale unui prag critic pe care omenirea l va trece doar odat cu o major transformare spiritual, nbaza creia se va structura ceea ce Mihai Drgnescu postula a fi Societatea Contiinei, bazat pe bucuriaOmului de a tri nduhovnicit.
The industrial society has represented a turning point in the evolution of humanity. Based on a more and
more advanced knowledge of physical and chemical phenomenon and processes, human creativity has
generated a world of artifacts, firstly capable of externalizing physical work and then able to amplify it to a
level difficult to imagine a few centuries before. The gradual structuring of a scale of values, based on
efficiency, productivity, material possessions and the fight for status in social hierarchy, has left its mark on

specific characteristics of Mans mentality. The ever narrowing professional specialization, the exacerbationof material values in the detriment of humanities (art, culture, spirituality), the diminishing of
communicative capacities at the level of multi-disciplinary groups; these are all consequences of the
application of the industrial paradigm, one in which Man is considered to be a Resource. The engine of the
economy in this essentially materialist society is, as the founder of bio-economy Nicolas Georgescu Roegen
calls it: Mans pleasure to live. As long as technology allows it, more and more products, mostly useless inmans spiritual development, become irresistible temptations and thus generating a competitive race betweenconsumption and exponential evolution.
The emergence of the first tool to save and amplify mans intellectual power, the Computer, inducesa new dimension in the mankinds evolution. If in the industrial society resources were material,geographically structured and limited, in this new society the resource becomes Information (intangible,
unlimited, de-localized). The information society in turn induces major mutations in the industrial paradigm,
which amplifies to unimaginable quotes of production, transport and general consumption: the
dematerialization of products, the de-localization of work and globalization. The emergence and
development of Artificial Intelligence challenges mankind both directly and indirectly, creating the issue of
its lack of sustainability and of life on a planetary scale for the first time.
On the other hand, the development of Information and Communication Technology imposes a
different vision of Reality, based on an ontological triad: Information-Energy-Matter which opens up a
new conceptual perspective. Doubled by the capacity of processing and computational modeling, this new
vision drives, in a very short amount of time, to conceptual breakthroughs and the definition of new theories,
technologies, investigation techniques and research, based on so called non-linear approach. A few
theories appear beyond quantum physics: The Dissipative Systems, Determinist Chaos, Catastrophe,
Synergetic, Fractal Geometry, Constructal Physics, Cellular Automats, Algorithms of Genetics, Neural
Networks and Artificial Life. This assembly of concepts, models and investigation techniques, generically
named Science of Complexity allows for a re-evaluation of the interaction between living and artificial
systems, ensuring a conceptual mind frame for the scientific approach of subtle issues such as Conscience,
the profound nature of Life, Mankinds purpose. Beyond a metaphor or description of intuition, theactual conceptual basis allows for the nature of the Human being to re-enter the discussion, of Manspurpose in the geostasis of planet Earth. The problem of Man thus becomes a central issue. The
identification and insurance of his most profound needs, beyond the material ones, the development of a
soulful and spiritual life, the reformulation of the educational and health care system from these new
perspectives, become fundamental objectives. We could argue that the global tension caused by the
economic, financial, climate and social crisis are manifestations of a critical cornerstone mankind will reach
only with a major spiritual transformation, on the based on the structure of which Mihai Draganescu was
postulating to be the Consciousness Society, which is focused on the happiness of Man to live in spirit.
