RepoRt

To all of our supporters:

I want to thank each and every one of you who helped make 2012 a very successful fundraising year for the uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation. together we raised a total of $204,645. of that, $120,985 was raised in last year’s annual campaign. During that campaign, 16% of you increased your gift from the previous year! A powerful combination of community supporters, planned givers, golfers, uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital vendors, staff and employees gathered together to make this the most successful drive ever!

the golf tournament raised $29,198. Many of you made memorial or honor gifts – what a nice way to remember those you love and who have utilized the services of uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital. planned giving totaled $53,777 – another way to support your community and the quality healthcare we rely on.

A renovation of the hospital’s newton Avenue site is underway right now thanks to a Foundation gift of $54,000. this renovation will prepare the site to better serve the hospital’s pediatric, walk-in, surgical and orthopedic patients. over the years, the Foundation has given the hospital a total of $615,000 to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and upgrade the facility.

I want to thank last year’s Foundation Chairman, Chris Hayes. His knowledge and support of our community combined with his leadership have kept the Foundation strong and growing. A special thank you to outgoing Board member, linda Mason, whose term expired this past year.

thanks also to our golf co-chairmen, John Masse and Ron Martin, who do a tremendous job organizing and running a very successful and fun event. We hope to see all of you again at the 2013 tournament.

this past campaign had an increase in uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital employee giving. under the competent leadership of Cindy Hill-Frink, Rn, they raised $25,200. It is important to note that the very people providing care at uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital believe in what they do and donate back to the Foundation. they know that quality healthcare needs solid financial support.

In these very difficult times in healthcare funding, it takes tremendous generosity and forward thinking on the part of donors like you to maintain and enrich our healthcare community. We, the trustees of the uHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation, salute you, the donors, for your foresight and continued dedication to our mission of quality healthcare in the greater Chenango County area.

our tax and estate laws encourage individual philanthropy by providing for generous financial incentives that can benefit contributors who share their resources with the CMH Foundation. A large function of planned giving is to lower a donor’s estate and capital gains taxes.

Although the Foundation is willing to provide and assist with helpful information, you should consult your attorney, trust officer or tax counselor to secure specific information on the tax consequences of your gift.
