In 2012, Fox Communities Credit Union celebrated 75 years of upholding what credit unions stand for… “People Helping People”. We began in the Combined Locks Mill as several workers decided they wanted to help others by pooling funds together and lending out money to those in need. They would keep track of the money brought in and lent out on a separate sheet of paper. This concept grew as they were able to help more people.

Greg Hilbert, President of Fox Communities Union states, “Fox Communities lives by this simple but fulfilling mission of people helping people. This is what the credit union philosophy is built on. We have grown over the years, from a small team of mill workers coming together for

a common need, to now being able to serve almost 70,000 members with 15 locations from Green Bay to Oshkosh.”

Fred VanHandel, Board Chair, adds “What does this mean to you, our members? It means that we work diligently to provide the best products and services to you and maintain a strong, secure, solid credit union. Our Board of Directors and staff members strive every day to think through all decisions. We constantly have our members’ best interest in mind as we continue to grow and provide you with the very best in financial services.” As the economy continues to improve, we have experienced growth in many of our core areas in 2012. Our loans grew by 8.5%, deposits by 12.8% and membership has increased by 7.5% to now

almost 70,000 members. Mortgage refinances drove loan growth, along with our members feeling better about the economy and purchasing vehicles again!

Clark Howard, America’s leading consumer advocate, was back in the Fox Cities again to present in May. We have been the major sponsor in bringing him to the area over the last six years. Attendees always leave his presentation armed with financial advice they can apply to their everyday lives. A direct quote and tip from Clark Howard’s book, Living Large in Lean Times, states, “Fire your bank and join a credit union! It’s often been said that there are no free lunches. But I think all credit unions come pretty darn close.” On August 1, 2012, Sunrise Credit Union, in Green Bay, merged and became part of Fox Communities Credit Union. This consolidation provided Sunrise members the added convenience of additional branches and ATM locations, along with better loan and deposit rates. Cal Radue of Fox Communities Credit Union and former President of Sunrise agrees, “This partnership allowed us the opportunity to continue to grow and stay competitive with the ever-changing needs of our members.” To celebrate we held a brat fry at our Green Bay locations for all members!

In September, our Kimberly office remodel was completed. This new design allowed for a more personalized member experience where the member stands side-by-side with the staff member to view their accounts and complete their transaction. Nancy Krahn,

It is why we exist.

Vice President of Member Service, comments, “This new concept was first implemented when we updated our Green Bay Ashland Avenue office in 2010. It was so well received that we will continue with this concept as we look to remodel existing locations and build new ones.”

After the Kimberly remodel was completed, we broke ground for our new Howard office that is now located at 2525 Lineville Road. Staff moved from the prior Lineville location to this one where we now provide a more accessible drive-thru, convenience of a drive up ATM and additional parking!

In 2012, we supported local community efforts in many ways; clothing drives, individual donations and causes, corporate sponsorships and capital campaigns. Giving back to the communities that we serve is always a top priority for Fox Communities Credit Union, even in some of the toughest economic times. “People Helping People”, this is why we exist. As technology evolves and impacts our lives, Fox continues to make this a top priority. 2012 key online and mobile banking initiatives:

• Mobile bill pay…with a mobile device you now have the ability to pay, receive and organize bills in a safe and secure environment with EasyPay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• See, Jump, Transfer…a new kind of automation that gives total access and convenience to all of your related accounts online. Accounts that qualify for this include

memberships opened under the same social security number and memberships on which you are a joint owner, such as a spouse’s account.

• Text banking…send a text message command to receive a text reply regarding the balance of your accounts. Protecting the security of our member’s accounts remains a focus for the credit union. As technology continues to grow and becomes such a large part of our everyday banking, we are diligent about providing online protection to our members. Our online banking is designed to safeguard your money by using the latest internet security technologies.

Throughout 2012, we celebrated 75 years of supporting what credit unions stand for, “People Helping People”. Thank you to our members, great staff and dedicated Board of Directors for making us Fox Communities Credit Union.

We look forward to another

75 years and a prosperous

2013 for everyone!
