Children with Special Needs Love TryCAN!

Do you know a child with special needs? The DCP has joined the TryCAN, a group of several communities joining forces to offer a comprehensive program of recreation and sports opportunities for children with special needs. We offer sports, social programs, reading, bike riding, music and more. With the help of trained Peer Mentors, this program is able to help

special needs children thrive. It’s all about inclusion and success. No residency required.

Volunteers & Mentors Needed

Sensitivity Workshops and Mentor Training is available to young teens through adults. It’s a great way to meet your community service requirements and have fun. Our next training is MENTOR TRAINING - September 24. $10 (register online).

The New Jersey Special Olympics Bandits have been in existence for 29 years. Any individual with special needs ages 16 years and older is eligible to participate. Practice is held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Community Center. The program runs from October until March.
