The Lady Rams have a different look for the 2012-

2013 season, but the same goals and expectations

are in place nonetheless. Only five out of the four-

teen Lady Rams are returners, but the additions to

the Lady Rams roster bring

energy and talent that rivals

years past.

A few of the key additions

include J’Tierra Brown, a 5-7

junior guard transfer from

Odessa College. Brown will

make an immediate impact

for the Lady Rams in a leadr-

ship role running the point.

Takoia Larry is a 5-10 junior

guard transfer from the

University of Science and Arts Oklahoma. Larry is an

exceptional shooter, scoring the basketball from any-

where on the court, while also carrying the ability to

drive to the rim.ToiEasha Cooper is a 5-9 jun-

ior forward transfer from South Plains Junior

College. Cooper quietly and consistently

scores in the paint, while contributing solid

defense on the other end of the court.

Returning starter Kayla McCray looks to be a

dominant force as she fills the shoes of 1st-

Team All Conference selection and Lady Rams

rebounding record holder Octavia Mullins. The 6-

2 junior from Watauga,TX makes it hard for oppo-

nents to score, while using the glass creatively on

the offensive end to score points in bunches.

Key match ups for the Lady

Rams this season start with

Northwood University. It is

the institution’s first year to

house a basketball program.

The rivalry that is apparent

between the two schools will

also carry over to basketball.

On New Years Eve, the Lady

Rams will take on futre

Sooner Athletic Conference

opponent the University of

the Science and Arts.

With many games to look forward to in the 2012-

2013 campaigin, the Lady Rams are bound to have an

enticing season on the court.

2011-12 Review

Season Review

A SE A S O N TO RE M E M B E RThe 2011-2012 campaign was an impressive one for

the Texas Wesleyan women’s basketball team. It was

a season Wesleyan fans have grown accustomed to

over the past couple of years. The Lady Rams, under

the leadership of Bill Franey in his first season, put

up another 25+ win season at 25-7.Texas Wesleyan

was 13-2 at home, and won their first nine home

games before falling to LSU-Shreveport in overtime

56-46 on January 28th.

The Lady Rams longest winning streak of the season

was seven games including back to back contests

where Wesleyan held Southwestern Assemblies of

God University to only 35 points before limiting

Paull Quinn to 36 points. The streak was capped by

an 86-85 home win against Our Lady of the Lake

University, who later went on to win the Red River

Athletic Conference Tournament.

All of the 2011-2012 Lady Rams did their part to

make the season a rousing success but two Lady

Rams stood out in the record books.

Brittany White, who was only the fourth player in

Lady Ram basketball history to be named an All-

American player in her junior season, joined the

1,000 point club in her senior season.White finished

with 1,061 points, making her eighth on the all-time

scoring list.White ended the season a second team

All-Conference selection.

Octavia Mullins also made the history books after

putting up 352 rebounds in her junor season to

attain the most rebounds in a single-season at Texas

Wesleyan; she topped that with 389 in her senior

season breaking her own record. Mullins also came

close to breaking the single-game rebound record,

one shy with 20 at Wiley on February 16th. She fin-

ished the season ranked fourth in Division 1 NAIA

in offensive boards per game with 4.813, and placed

fourt in total rebounds with 389. Mullins also ranked

sixth in the nation with 12.156 rebounds per game.

She ended the season with a first team All-

Conference nod.

Since most students willenter the workforce before returning to graduateschool, Wesleyan maintains graduate professionalprograms of high quality in formats that are accessi-ble to working adults. Learning on a First-Name Basis

Texas Wesleyan University is the first choicefor those who seek a strong liberal arts curriculumand who wish to pursue their careers in business, teaching, science, the humanities, or the performingarts. And since Wesleyan’s class sizes are intention-ally small, with an average 13-to-1 student-to-facultyratio, there’s no chance of becoming a “number” andgetting lost as might be the case at a large university.

Our faculty care about your success and willadvise you on the academic program that will bestprepare you for your career. They can help you focuson your chosen field through our Pre-ProfessionalProgram, help you develop a resume, or apply tograduate schools. Most importantly, they will chal-lenge you to be the best you can be, and to over-come obstacles so you can get where you want togo. Discover Yourself

You’re probably familiar with the phase, “it’s allabout the journey, not the destination.” At Wesleyan,we think the journey and the destination both count. At Texas Wesleyan, you will journey on paths ofenrichment that may or may not directly relate toyour career goals, but we know that they all eventu-ally lead to your destination: a sense of confidence, asense of engagement, and a sense of purpose foryour life.

Wesleyan students grow as individuals andbenefit from a genuine college experience by partici-pating in numerous cocurricular clubs and activities,as well as professional clubs and religious, service, and special interest organizations. Financially Within Reach

In 2010, Wesleyan awarded $64 million infinancial aid, with an average of $17,500 per student.Freshmen academic scholarships can range from$3,000 to full tuition, while transfer student academicscholarships can range from $3,000 to $6,600.Grants and scholarships are also available for per-forming arts, active Methodist affiliation, ROTC, ath-

letics, and more. When you apply for admission, our counselors

will sit down with you to make sure a TexasWesleyan education is within your reach. Enjoy the College Experience

Let’s face it. Sometimes, somewhere betweenclasses, labs, and studying, you just want to be withfriends. No paths to explore, no destination toachieve. Just you and your friends, participating inexciting cocurricular activities or serious conversa-tions, on campus or off.

At the (Brown-Lupton Campus Center (theSUB), you can play air hockey, pick up a snack atthe SUB Grill, or hear some friends play the guitar. Ifyou live on campus, there are lounges for playingtable tennis, pool and foosball...or just plain lounging. You can jog around the safe, wooded campus, playdisc golf, or enjoy the indoor pool or new fitness cen-ter. And thanks to our central location within theDFW-Metroplex, there’s plenty to do off-campus, too.
