AMY PRUZAN: REFLECTIONS

ABOUTAmy Pruzan works in a variety of media, but maintains a strong focus on glass and photography. She earned her B.F.A degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Cornish College of the Arts in 2006, with triple majors in sculpture, print, and photography. Pruzan has studied at institutions such as Alexander Muss in Israel, Pilchuck Glass School, and Pratt Fine Arts Center. Her work resides in several permanent collections in-cluding the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Pruzan has worked along side many Prominent Local artists, such as Sonja Blomdahl, Ginny Ruffner, and Martin Blank. Recently this Seattle Native has been honored with both the Corning award nomination form Pilchuck Glass Schools, and the George Tsu-takawa Scholarship from Pratt Fine Arts Center.

EXHIBITSeattle based artist Amy Pruzan’s work combines glass, metal and photography. Her photographic im-ages are both literal and metaphorical representations of memory. The glass elements of her pieces func-

tion as lenses through which memories are reflected or distorted, addressing questions of what happens to one’s memories over the passage of time.

KIMBALL ART CENTER

The Kimball Art Center is your nonprofit community art center. Starting with art lover Bill Kimball’s vision in 1976, members of the Park City community transformed the Kimball Brothers’ Garage into today’s Kimball Art Center. In this spirit of community involvement and excellent art, the Kimball continues to expand its educational outreach programs and bring top quality exhibitions from across the country to Park City.

The Kimball is free and open to the public year-round, furthering access to the visual arts for the commu-nity. While schools face increasing challenges in the area of art education, the Kimball stands as a bright spot for visual arts education. Our educational outreach packages and school tours preserve the value of visual arts education. The art center also offers classes for children and adults while giving members ac-cess to our ceramics, photography and painting studios.

The Kimball Art Center is the cultural hub of Park City. In addition to the Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival and the Kimball Art Auction & Gala we host many special events throughout the year, so come out to the Kimball and let’s make some art!
