Photographer to sell protesters’portraits for $200 each Butprotesters pictured had no idea

Occupy Wall Street’sgallery debut is today. Ex-cept the protesters saythey have had no part in it.

Fort Greene photogra-pher Andrew Piccone’sshow “Faces of OccupyWall Street” opens at theFrontrunner gallery inTriBeCa tonight. There, hehopes to sell the portraitsof some 26 protesters for$200 a print.

Piccone, 24, admits hehasn’t spoken to a singleone of his subjects.

“I didn’t interact withthem or tell them what Iwas going to do with thephotos,” Piccone said. “Iliked my role as a voyeur.”

Some Occupiers saythey feel violated. Eric Car-tar, 30, from New Orleans, called Piccone’s exhibit“disingenuous.”

“All the energy in this

park is against being com-modified,” said Carter. “He’sjust missing the point.”

Protesters told Metrothat they understand theyare occupying a publicpark, but wish Picconewould have been moretransparent about his in-tentions when he snappedtheir photos.

“I don’t think it’s moral-ly right,” Camille Raneem,21, a Hunter student, said.

Raneem said she’s beenphotographed hundreds oftimes since the occupationbegan and finds the bar-rage of cameras “harass-ing.”

“They photograph youwhile you’re waking up,”she said. “You feel like ananimal in a zoo.”

Piccone’s say

Piccone says that he

doesn’t identify with the

Occupy protesters.

“I would not consider my-self a participant in theprotest,” he said to Metro.“There are certain things Iagree with, and certainthings I might not.”“Faces of Occupy Wall

Street” is the budding

photographer’s first show.

When told of protesters’fury over his exhibit, Pic-cone said he now plans todonate “a portion of theprofits” to the Occupy WallStreet movement.

Comedian Eddie Murphybowed out yesterday as hostof the upcoming Oscars, oneday after producer Brett Rat-ner who had lured Murphyinto the role also exited fol-lowing an uproar from hisuse of a gay slur.

“I appreciate how Eddiefeels about losing his cre-ative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well,”Tom Sherak, president ofthe Academy of Motion Pic-ture Arts and Sciences, which puts on the Oscars, said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Ratner re-signed from the high-profilejob as Oscar producer in theface of an industryfirestorm after his answerto a question at a screening

this past weekend of hisnew comedy, “Tower Heist,”which Murphy stars in.

Ratner was asked aboutusing rehearsals ahead ofthe film shoot, and he

replied “rehearsing is forfags.” He later apologizedpublicly, but gay rightsgroups and some membersof the academy took issuewith his use of the slur.

“First and foremost, Iwant to say that I complete-ly understand and supporteach party’s decision withregard to a change of pro-ducers for this year’s Acade-my Awards ceremony,”Murphy said in a statement.

“I was truly looking for-ward to being a part of theshow that our productionteam and writers were juststarting to develop, but I’msure that the new produc-tion team and host will doan equally great job,” Mur-phy said. REUTERS

Americans who have achronic illness or serioushealth problems are morelikely to struggle to paytheir medical bills or haveproblems getting neededcare than adults with simi-lar problems in other high-income countries, a surveyreleased yesterday found.

The poll of more than18,000 adults in the UnitedStates and 10 other high-income countries foundthat Americans were mostlikely to have problemsgetting needed care be-cause of the cost, or tohave medical debt, accord-ing to data released by theCommonwealth Fund.

“Despite spending farmore on health care than

any other country, theUnited States practicallystands alone when it comesto people with illness orchronic conditions havingdifficulty affording health

care and paying medicalbills,” CommonwealthFund president Karen Davissaid in a statement.

“This is a clear indica-tion of the urgent need forAffordable Care Act re-forms geared toward im-proving coverage and con-trolling health care costs.”

The 2011 telephone sur-vey included people whosaid they were in fair orpoor health, those who hadsurgery in the prior twoyears, or those who hadbeen treated for a serious ill-ness or injury in the prioryear. It found that 42 per-cent of the 1,200 U.S. adultswith health problems in thesurvey went without carebecause of costs. REUTERS

Jenny Craig attracts, let’s say, “midlevel”celebs to be theirspokespeople. Sara Rue,

Valerie Bertinelli, PhyliciaRashad and Jason Alexanderare among those who havebeen paid handsomely toshill the company. Butthey must have paid buck-ets of cash to afford theirlatest spokeswoman, Mariah Carey.

The company’s big celebget was revealed yesterdayat New York City’s FourSeasons. Carey arrived 20minutes late to the confer-ence and was escorted allthe way to the stage towhat we thought would beto take questions from re-porters, which is why wewere there. Instead, shewas just interviewed byGayle King about her in-volvement with JennyCraig, which, by the way, isnow just called “Jenny.”

Carey says she startedJenny in July and has lost30 pounds so far. She toldKing she was approachedby three different weightloss companies while preg-nant but picked Jenny be-cause she clicked with thepeople. “Some other suit-ors have great money, havegreat ... whatever it is thattheir concepts are — I didn’t really connect withthe people, and this wasonly over the phone atfirst. The first time I spoke

with the executors at Jen-ny it was like we reallyclicked.”

But Carey didn’t discussthe diet exclusively: We alsolearned little personal tid-bits about her, like the factthat she enjoys taking busi-ness calls while in the bath-

tub. “Like all day every daywhen I was pregnant, [I was]in the bath, with a towel, se-riously, doing business calls, talking to lawyers with wa-ter splashing,” she revealed.“[My trainer] Bernardo and Iwere doing exercises main-ly in the water.” As she de-mo’ed some of her aquaticmoves, she made sure tolook good in the process:“Let me do it a more ele-gantly for the photo —please don’t get a bad angle.”

Carey says that she wasso embarrassed by herpregnant body that shenever went naked. Any-where. “I was never nude. Ihad a towel on in the tub, Ihad clothing on in thetub,” she told King. “I’mnot lying. You think Iwould let Nick see melooking rancid like that?”

Rancid? One thing’s forsure: Mariah Carey will notbecoming the spokesmanfor Earth Mothers Interna-tional anytime soon.

“We don’t adhere to theform as rigidly as some ofthese other artists do, and Ilove their music. That’s justnot what we wanted to do,”he says. “We wanted to dosomething that was more ofa hybrid. We just weren’tafraid to let something thatfelt like it was outside of the

‘Dance Central 2’ Console: Xbox 360 Kinect MicrosoftGrade:

The game that managedto outpace Wii Sports inthe “your co-worker thathates video games inex-plicably loves this” con-test is back for a secondhelping. Thanks to themagical elves lurking inthe Kinect, this sequelfollows where the first ti-tle left off. Specifically, the way you dance in real

life is the way you danceon your TV. See? Magic.

This would be a lowlytech demo if there wasn’ta good game to back it up.Thankfully, there is.“Dance Central 2” ups theante with more songs, more challenges and, finally, simultaneous mul-tiplayer support. Now youcan settle that age-old dis-pute between friends asto who would fare best ina dance battle. Hey, what-ever floats your boat.

‘Everybody Dance’Console: PS3 MoveSonyGrade:

It’s about time Sony andtheir Wii-esque wand at-tachment got a greatdancing game. The deviceis called the Move, afterall. “Everybody Dance” us-es the power of thePlayStation Eye in tandemwith the controller to cre-ate something that isclose to the level of fullbody motion control seen

in “Dance Central.”It’s still fun though.

This game brings somecool bells and whistles tothe table. Each track fea-tures several difficulty lev-els and comes equippedwith the official musicvideo. There’s also a modethat allows you to partnerwith friends in coordinat-ed routines. If you’regonna get hammered athome, you could do worsethan Sony’s new dancingbaby.

WE ARE CONFIDENT OUR BUYERS WILL

BEAT MOST LEGITIMATE OFFERS!How to Test Us

Take your valuable items to other dealers before bringingthem to us. Have them give you legitimate written offers. Thenbring your items and your written offers to us. No one canguarantee to pay the highest prices all the time. But we believethe buyers we have chosen will beat most legitimate writtenoffers.

Why Are We Telling You To Get Prices From Others? Our buyers find it much easier to buy items of value from

their customers after they have had previous offers. So it is inour own self interest to have you get written offers before com-ing to us. We also find that our customers are happier becausethey have the peace of mind of knowing they received a fair price.

Why Our Buyers May Be Able To Pay MoreOur group of buyers will be here for only a few days. But in

those few days, some of our buyers will buy more than manydealers buy in a year. Because of the volume of merchandisethey handle, some of our buyers have developed world-widemarkets and clients to liquidate their purchases at the bestprices, which is one of the keys to why they can pay more thanother dealers.

What Makes Us Different? Most dealers who buy and sell items of value specialize in

only a few areas. As a result, they are likely to make low offersfor items in markets they are not familiar with.

For example, almost all jewelers specialize in new items. They do not often deal with old or used watches, which meansthey are unfamiliar with the true markets for such items. So ifyou have a used watch to sell, chances are a jeweler will makean offer on the low side because he does not want to make amistake and pay too much.

The same thing applies to almost all items of value, such aslady items, art, jewelry, etc., that you bring to normal dealers.

Anderson, Carter, Bascom & Assoc. and Estate Buyer byMJD is different. Our volume buying has allowed us to bringtogether a large group of knowledgeable buyers. And althoughwe do not control what our buyers pay, we believe they arecomfortable paying prices that beat legitimate written offers fromother dealers.

‘Show Me’by Jessica SuttaWhen Gaga first

came on the scene,

she received a lot of

criticism for being de-

rivative. It seems that

with Jessica Sutta’s

“Show Me,” we have

our first real example

of a song that is deriv-

ative of pop’s leading

Lady. Listen to the ro-

botic way Sutta deliv-

ers the line, “bow,

bow, have you ever

thought about” and

it’s almost in the ex-

act same cadence as

the “walk, walk fash-

ion baby” part of

“Bad Romance.”

These complaints are

not to suggest that

Sutta, a former Pussy-

cat Doll, won’t even-

tually find her own

identity. “Show Me”

is a fine song. The

melody is strong, and

the thumping beat

has helped it hover at

the top of the

Billboard dance chart

for a few weeks. And

the lyrics are interest-

ing: In a pop song,

historically the most

empty of all expres-

sions, the singer is

pleading for you to

reveal “everything

hidden in your heart,

all your fears.”

There are many reasons tothink Manhattan wouldnever have a country club.Nonetheless, the Green-wich Village Country Clubis now here, having turnedthe massive space aboveBowlmor (which was theformer carnival-themed barCarnival) into a Shangri-Laof links and libations. Yourfirst look:

Par-Tee Lounge: Step in-side and you'll hit an Astro-Turf area sporting pool/airhockey/shuffleboard tables,an upside-down alligator-skin golf hole on the ceil-ing, and beers ranging from

drafts of Goose Island IPA,to cans of Foster’s and Pork-slap served in paper bags.

The Mini-Golf Course andFairway: Most of the consid-erable square footage is con-sumed by a large sand boccecourt, a beer pong arena, and the aforementionedfenced-in minigolf course, whose nine holes are guard-ed by animals, from a gi-raffe, to a lion, to ... holycrap, is that John Daly?! Sor-ry, false alarm, it’s just a go-rilla. A massive, shirtless go-rilla.

The Clubhouse: Shouldyou want to run game your-

We caught up with the30-year-old Brooklyn resi-dent to find out where sheeats when she’s not inhal-ing sugar.

BrunchI love going to Egg inWilliamsburg (135 N. Fifth

St., Brooklyn, 718-302-5151),except it’s always busy.When I was a pastry chef atWD-50 I’d always go to Prune(54 E. First St., 212-677-6221)

on Sundays. I love theirMonte Cristo or Eggs Bene-dict. And [because of] TheBrooklyn Star (593 Lorimer St.,

Brooklyn, 718-599-9899) Idream of weekends mostdays, only because I wantbiscuits and gravy everymorning for the rest of mylife.

SandwichesI like Tiny’s Giant Sandwich

Shop (129 Rivington St., 212-

228-4919) and I’m a reallybig fan of this bodega Sunnyand Annie’s (94 Ave. B.; 212-

677-3131). My two favoritesandwiches are the Chicago— it’s like a Reuben — andthis other one which istheir take on bulgogi.

PizzaI used to have Motorino (349

E. 12th St., 212-777-2644) inmy neighborhood and thenit closed down. I really likeRoberta’s (261 Moore St.,

Brooklyn, 718-417-1118) butyou have to eat it there. I’malso pretty shameless — ifit’s 2 o’clock in the morn-ing and I’m just gettinghome from work I’ll order

Papa John’s (www.papa-johns.com) and not thinktwice about it. They have alot of sugar in their crust— it fulfills my need fordinner and dessert.

NoodlesWhen I want to have a real-ly delicious meal I alwaysgo to Noodle Bar (171 First

Ave., 212-777-7773). It seemsso self-promotional, but Idon’t get anything [out ofit]. It’s also the way I reallyenjoy dining: it’s deliciousand the food comes out justfast enough and it’s some-thing about the flavors theyuse. I also go to Ippudo (65

Fourth Ave., 212-388-0088)

which is a more classic ap-proach to a ramen shop. Ithink there’s something re-ally soothing about a bowlof noodles, especially themore you know about it.

DrinksIn the city I love going toPDT (113 St. Marks Place, 212-

614-0386). The fact that I canhave a cocktail and a corn-dog is a great thing. InBrooklyn we go to FiveLeaves (18 Bedford Ave., 212-

The Giants are coming offan impressive road winagainst the Patriots, but thisSunday’s matchup with theupstart 49ers may actuallybe the tougher challenge.

Sure, the Patriots haveall-world quarterback TomBrady, but what San Francis-co brings may be moredetrimental to Big Blue’s de-fense — a power runninggame.

Frank Gore is perhapsthe most talented of theNiners’ skill position play-ers and the offense has beenmolded around him. Theseven-year vet has gashedopponents this season andhas rewarded rookie headcoach Jim Harbaugh’s faithwith a superb season (782yards, 4.9 yards per carryand five touchdowns).

“You know they’re goingrun. Gore has [a franchise-record] five-straight gameswith 100 yards and theyhave good receivers and atight end who’s very rare,”Coughlin said. “Plus, they

have three first-rounders onthe offensive line … theyhave good talent.”

Coughlin’s concerns forstopping Gore are well-founded — the Giants are

allowing 127.1 yards a gameand 4.6 yards per rushing at-tempt.

PATRIOTS VS. JETS

Jets ‘D’wary ofstrugglingPatriotsWith Peyton Manningout for the season with aneck injury, Jets headcoach Rex Ryan calledthe Patriots Tom Bradythe best quarterback inthe league. But as good asBrady is, he’s still havinga down year.

Over the past threegames — two ofthem New Eng-land losses —Brady hasthrown four in-terceptions andbeen sacked eight times.

New York is smellingblood and the targetthey’re circling is Brady.

“They spread you out;they’re real disciplined,”Jets cornerback Kyle Wil-son said. “When a guy’s

not doing their job, that’s exactly wherethey’re going to hit. Wegot to understandmatchups, because that’sa big aspect of the gamefor New England.”

There is frustration inFoxboro as they try topinpoint why Brady istossing so many more in-terceptions. Last season,he was picked off justfour times. This year, thatnumber is already at 10.

“I think you can lookat each play and obvious-ly there’s something thatwent wrong. A coupleballs have been tipped, acouple balls I’m sure

he’d like to haveback. I’d sayfor the mostpart, I think

RB, Redskins Locked in as the every-downback in an offense thatloves to check down to itsbacks. Major PPR upside.

Laurent Robinson

WR, CowboysWith Miles Austin out 2-4weeks, Robinson is going tobe a target hog. In this of-fense, he’ll have WR2 value.

Jacoby Ford

WR, Raiders Ford has replaced DarriusHeyward-Bey as a starter. Haselite speed to catch up tobombs from Carson Palmer.

MIDSEASON AWARD TOUR

Everyone knows that Fred Jackson isfantasy’s MVP, Chris Johnson is thebiggest bust and Cam Newton is therookie of the year. But what aboutthese categories:

Injury of the yearIt’s unlikely that owners were ableto overcome Jamaal Charles’s season-ending Week 2 ACL tear. He had noclear handcuff and getting runningback help during the season is bru-tal. While Kenny Britt’s knee injury

was painful, there are enough wide-outs out there to overcome it.

Best performanceIn Week 4 against the Broncos, AaronRodgers piled up more fantasy pointsthan Vernon Davis or Mario Manning-ham have all season. He threw for408 yards, ran for 36 more andscored six total touchdowns.

Top waiver add Victor Cruz wasn’t drafted comingout of UMass. He also wasn’t draft-ed in any fantasy leagues. But hehas bucked the odds, establishinghimself as a highly-productiveNo. 3 receiver and outscoringguys like Larry Fitzgerald andBrandon Marshall along the way.

NFL news

Brown bagAntonio

Brown hasracked up 34targets in his

last three games. And withEmmanuel Sanders (knee)out 2-3 weeks, he’ll sustainthat. Brown is a big-timeplaymaker in what is now apass-first offense. Don’t beafraid to ride him.

Depth isn’t as important

as handcuffs now that

the bye weeks are gone.

Some must-owns:

1 Ben Tate, RB, HOU— If ArianFosterwentdown, Tate would be atop-5 kind of option. The Texans’ offensiveline is dominant.

2 KendallHunter,RB, SF —This run-heavy of-fense is a back’s dream.Frank Gore has anankle tweak now.

3 MattFlynn, QB,GB —Ownerscan’t risklosing Aaron Rodgers.Flynn would be a top-10option if given thechance for the Pack.

Break out the stilettos; it’s timeto hit the red carpet. With eachteam having played at leasteight games, we can take agander back at what we’veseen.

NFL handcuffs

Aaron Rodgers is on pace to score 52total touchdowns this season.

The Yankees have notfinished initial calls toagents or other GMs.

“I haven’t talked toevery team and I haven’ttalked to every agentyet,” Cashman said. “Icertainly haven’t hadone agent tell me whatthey want financially. Noone’s made any demandsto me. No one’s mademe an offer, so I don’tknow what thesecurrent free agents arelooking for yet in termsof years or dollars, and Icertainly don’t haveevery team covered yet(for trade analysis) — al-though I certainly amtrying.” LARRY FLEISHER
