The Cities of Kannapolis & Concord and Cabarrus County encourage you to help us celebrate Earth Day 2011 by participating in our free 2011 Viva Verde Photo Contest!

Student Division: available to all elementary, middle & high school students. $50 will be awarded to the

winner of each category in the Student Division, and the Grand Prize winner will receive a digital camera!

Open Division: available to anyone who would like to enter. $50 will be awarded to the winner of each

category in the Open Division, and the Grand Prize winner will receive $250.

There will be five categories in each division. Contestants may submit one entry per category.

Landscapes, Wildlife, Birds, Plants & Flowers and Cabarrus County

All submissions will be posted online on our Viva Verde Earth Fest Facebook page in the 2011 Viva Verde Earth Day Photo Contest Galleries on April 5th. Category winners will be determined by the highest number of likes in each category. Voting will close on April 11th. Prizes will be awarded and winning photos will be displayed at the Viva Verde Earth Day event to be held on Saturday, April 16th at North Cabarrus Park in Kannapolis. In the

case of a tie, members of the Viva Verde Photo Contest Committee will select the winner. Grand Prize winners will be selected by the Viva Verde Photo Contest Committee. Entry deadline is Sunday, April 4th 2011. The Earth Day Photo Contest Entry form and Photo(s) (please include a caption for each entry) may be submitted

as prints (at least 8”x10” or 8”x12”) or in digital format to either of the following addresses:
