Recording a PowerPoint Presentation

How to Record a PowerPoint Presentation

Click “Add-Ins” on the middle of the tool bar to access the Camtasia Studio PowerPoint tools

The icons from left to right allow you to:- Record- Turn on the Microphone- Turn on the Camera- Test your Camera- Edit Settings- Help!

Audio Recording a PowerPoint Presentati on

Click the Recording options icon to adjust specific settings for recording, including:

• Records the mouse cursor • Video and audio format• Audio source• Camera setup

Recording OptionsRecommendations:- Start the recording paused

(Ctrl+Shift+F9)- Select “Edit in Camtasia Studio when

finished”.- Test the microphone and audio settings

before recording

Remember:Record/Pause Ctrl+Shift+F9Stop Ctrl+Shift+F10

Recording1. Click Record to launch the slideshow.

2. Check the microphone input level. When ready, select the Click to begin recording button or use the hotkeys.

3. Control the PowerPoint presentation, as you normally would, during the recording.

4. Press Esc to stop recording.

Recording - ReviewRemember:When you decide to start recording by pressing “record”, the PowerPoint will go full screen and you will still have to hit the “Click to begin recording” to begin recording.

Aft er Recording1. At the end of the recording; choose

whether to Stop recording or Continue recording.

If you choose to Continue recording, click the Stop recording button in the PowerPoint recording toolbar.

2. After you save the file, choose whether to:

• Produce your recording. or

• Edit your recording before producing it.

 

Cancelling a Recording1. Press

2. When the Save Camtasia Recording As… dialog box appears,

click Cancel.

3. When the dialog box appears asking if you are sure you want to delete the current video capture, click Yes.

Recording Review

After pressing “Esc” or at the end of the presentation you will be asked whether or not to continue recording. If you stop recording you will be asked to saved the file. If you continue recording, remember to press “stop recording” or exit the PowerPoint when you finish so that you are asked to save the file again.

If you didn’t like the recording you can discard it.

Possibilities of Camtasia

Clip Bin - The Clip Bin references all audio-visuals imported into the current project. Library - Items in the Library are called media assets. The Library comes pre-populated with media assets you use to add professional looking intros, outros, title clips, and more.Callouts - Callouts are graphics that appear on top of a video to draw viewers’ attention.Zoom-n-Pan - Determine when to zoom in and when to zoom out.Editing Audio - Add effects using the audio editing panel.Transitions - Use transitions to indicate the passage of time, change in location, to call attention, or to create a smooth flow between clips. Cursor Effects - The cursor can be enhanced for better visibility Title Clips - Use a title clip to add a static clip with a graphic and/or textVoice Narration - Use voice narration to insert a voice recording into the video. Record Camera - Records camera video from a Web camera and synchronizes it with the video on the timeline. Picture-in-Picture - A Picture-in-Picture (PIP) is an additional video clip (usually a Web camera recording) that plays embedded into the main video or next to the main video.Captions - Captions display onscreen text within a video to provide additional or interpretive information Quizzing - Insert a Flash quiz or survey into your video

and more. To access the audio options, click the Audio tab.
