2011 SACSCOC ANNUAL MEETING

ORLANDO, FLORIDADECEMBER 3-6, 2011

The 2011 SACSCOC Annual Meeting had record attendance with over 4200 attendees.

The University of Central Florida’s Flute Quartet provided music at the opening session.

Dr. Belle Wheelan, President of SACSCOC, gave opening remarks.

The opening keynote speaker was Mr. Jamie Merisotis of the Lumina Foundation.

The University of Central Florida’s jazz faculty provided music at the opening reception.

Entrance to the 2011 Educational Excellence Exposition.

… and more networking.

Dr. Wayne Clough, head of the Smithsonian Institute, addressed presidents …

… about the common mission of colleges, universities, and the Smithsonian.

Dr. Richard Chait talked to CEOs about improving relationships with boards.

Roundtables provided an opportunity to discuss new ideas in a small-group setting.

Sir Ken Robinson was witty and humorous as our second keynote speaker.

The audience was attentive as Sir Ken discussed the need for creativity and innovation.

Dr. Karen Holbrook addressed presidents on “The Global Imperative.”

The Presidents’ luncheon was well-attended.

SACSCOC staff member Donna Barrett provided training for finance officers along with Demetria Gibbs, Director of Training & Research.

Vice President Barry Goldstein talked to institutional representatives about accreditation.

Dr. Nuria Cuevas is the most recent VP to join the SACSCOC staff.

VP Mark Smith responded to questions from his constituents.

Dr. Cheryl Cardell assisted participants in understanding the Principles of Accreditation.

VP Robin Hoffman (far right) met with individuals from her assigned institutions.

VP Marcy Stoll discussed best practices in an open meeting with institutional reps.

VP Steven Sheeley responded to questions from college and university attendees.

Mr. Roberts Jones was the keynote speaker at the Third General Session.
