• Each contestant’s goal is to “ be given an opportunity to define the role of a Catholic citizen in a free society, and strengthen the bond between Knights of Columbus and local community.” •Contest open to all students in grades 8th-12th attending public, private, & parochial schools•Awards to winners are left to discretion of council (i.e. certificates (included in contest kit), scholarships, savings bonds, trophies, etc.)

•Poster entries must fall under the following categories: Alcohol Awareness and Abuse or Drug Awareness and Abuse•Contestants will be categorized in two age groups:
8 through 11 years and 12 through 14 years• Competition levels:
Council: Jan 2012 District/Diocesan: Feb 2012 State: March 2012
• Awards to winners are left to discretion of council (i.e. certificates, scholarships, savings bonds, trophies, etc.)

Promoting a Scouting Unit in your council can hold many opportunities between Knights and Scouts: Incorporates & encourages the 8 components of Youth Ministry among the Scouting Programs ( Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers)
•Instills a relation between K of C council with youth, community leadership, Christian service, & learned respect through interaction with Knights•May increase council membership by exposing parents or encouraging future squires

•The St. Christopher Award is given to a Brother Knight that has selfishly worked close with their local Boys Scouts of America. •The Brother Knight will receive a neck jewel, lapel pin, and certificate signed by the State Deputy as an appreciation for his dedication to the BS of A. •To nominate a Brother Knight for this award, the order form may be downloaded from the TKOFC.ORG website and presented to the Council’s Grand Knight. •Then please mail the form to Jesse Aguilar, Jr. in San Antonio, TX
