Traditional Camp is the quintessential Rockfish experience . Campers explore all that Rockfish has to offer in a beautiful display of God’s nature in the NC Sandhills . Our small groups of 12-16 campers, 2 counselors, and 2 support staff create a close-knit atmosphere and allows campers to have a unique experience every time they visit Rockfish . Campers grow closer to each other and closer in their relationship with God .

New this year: Experiencing the wonders of God’s creation, campers spend a night under the stars tent camping! Under their counselor’s guidance, each group cooks dinner over a campfire . Campers truly get back to basics in the unplugged outdoors .

Whether they are here for the first time or their fifth summer, your camper is sure to have a great time exploring all the activities available including: swimming in the lake and the pool, the climbing tower, archery, campfires, making parflesnarf, Bible studies, tetherball, arts and crafts, nightly worship, and so much more .

Night Owls

SurvivorThis is a unique program for the older, more experienced camper and those looking for a challenge . Campers will come together and accomplish goals through the use of ingenuity, teamwork and thinking ‘outside-the-box’ .

Campers backpack into more remote locations on Camp Rockfish property to spend the bulk of their week . The group works as a team to accomplish pre-determined goals . They will soon realize that they can only accomplish these goals by working together . When campers reach their goal, they will be rewarded with an added comfort . The group that works together and reaches all their goals could be living in the lap of luxury at week’s end .

Can you push yourself to new limits? Are you a team player? Are you a SURVIVOR?

Who doesn’t want to stay up all night? Even better, what if you were staying up all night at camp? This track is our traditional camp experience done with a twist . Campers sleep during the day, and when the sun goes down, their activities begin!

All traditional camp activities are available for Night Owl campers, including special activities only for them, such as a midnight canoe trip and a cross–camp treasure hunt . Furthermore, they will have the additional treat of eating one meal a day cooked over a campfire or brought in especially for them . Not a morning person? Then prepare to experience camp in a way few ever will!

When you arrive at camp, your journey has only just begun . Prepare to leave on an adventure that will leave you breathless, an expedition unlike any you have ever experienced!

Campers first travel to Paramount’s King’s Dominion Amusement Park for a day of roller coasters and thrill rides .

Following that, campers are immersed in the culture of our nation’s history in Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown .

The remainder of the week includes Busch Gardens Amusement Park and Water Country USA . Campers will relax for a day at Virginia Beach before heading back to Camp Rockfish on Friday night .

Campers and staff tent camp at local KOA campsites throughout the week . Staff will lead daily devotions to reconnect campers at the beginning and end of each day . By the end of this intense week, campers have visited three amusement parks, two historic towns, and traveled over 700 miles!

* Campers need to be at least 54” tall to access all rides .

Canoe

Canoe Camp is a great week of canoeing skill development and traditional Rockfish activities . During this program, campers will learn canoe strokes, maneuvers and rescue techniques .

This leads to a three-day, two-night canoe trip that will call upon all of the campers’ skills . They will be able to test their canoeing skills as well as experience the beauty of eastern North Carolina along the Contentnea Creek and Neuse River . Though gone for several days, the group will still experience camp worship times as

well as counselor-led daily devotions while on their trip .

So get a friend and hop on to this new adventure that will set your summer apart from all the others .

SWAT is an awesome way for campers to make an impact while having the time of their life with some of the greatest people they will ever meet . For two weeks, campers will serve local missions in the Fayetteville area, as well as minister at our sister camps, Don Lee & Chestnut Ridge .

Well-trained counselors and trip leaders will lead campers in these activities and in Bible studies to connect them to the God who loves them .

Of course, what is summer without a healthy dose of adventure? During their two week journey, campers will have the opportunity to go camping, sailing, visit Fantasy Lake Water Park, and go indoor skydiving and parasailing . To cap off the week, the campers will have the opportunity to lead all-camp worship at the end of their stay, before coming home with enough stories to fill an entire summer!

Servants With A Testimony

Adventure Quest is designed for campers who are ready to take their summer camp experience to the next level .

Campers will arrive at Rockfish and spend their time on the group challenge course, high ropes course, climbing tower and outdoor wilderness living skills . This will ready campers as they prepare for their trip to the mountains!

During the action packed off-site portion of this program, campers will be rafting* in the New River Gorge, caving in Virginia (new this year), zipping along on a 850ft zipline, climbing at Pilot Mountain and cooking meals over a campfire .

This program gives campers the unique experience of not only learning about God’s creation through counselor-led Bible study, but to fully experience it in all of its glory first-hand .

This is the perfect program for youth who are seeking more! For three weeks, campers learn programmatic and spiritual leadership . The W .Y .L .D . Bunch camper gets hands-on experience in learning outdoor living skills, counseling and high ropes .

Every participant in this program has the opportunity to earn certification in American Association of Archery Instruction, Red Cross Lifeguarding – which includes CPR, AED and First Aid - and American Canoeing Association instruction . Campers can also become certified Rockfish facilitators on high ropes and our group challenge course .

The W .Y .L .D . Bunch campers experience and practice leading daily small group devotions and learn how to plan and lead large and small group worship experiences . They receive training and practice with leading children and youth in a camp environment, and have the opportunity to learn about many aspects of Camp Rockfish leadership .

During their three weeks, campers will develop their own sense of self, and strengthen their decision making skills . This program is about personal development and growth in their Christian walk . Most importantly, campers learn the importance of living and leading God-centered lives at camp, at home, and anywhere that life takes them .

Because the program is so rigorous, we require each candidate to complete an application with three references in order to be considered . Applicants will be notified on an individual basis .
