Our final session for this school year!Hidden in our congregation are men and women who eachday take their faith to work. As a group, our teachers havethe unique challenge of living out their Christian commitment

in the classroom. Add together the great challenge of teaching kids of all ages andbackgrounds, the drama of school funding and the “new normal” that is emerging inpublic schools and you will find a setting that would stretch the faith of any one of us.This week in My Job My Faith we talk with three teachers.

When Wendy Uzzle is not singing in the SHPC choir, she is a special education teach-er, currently teaching in the Life Skills program at Bowie HS. She teaches studentswith significant disabilities, including autism, speech impairments, cognitive disabili-ties and the medically fragile. In addition to her classroom work, Wendy is also thehead cheerleading coach at Bowie. When Carlen Floyd is not leading a mission trip toMexico or Guatemala, she teaches US Government & Politics, AP Comparative Govern-ment & Politics, and Academic US Government at Bowie. When Adrienne Voskampisn’t bringing new people to worship at SHPC (which happens almost every week!) sheis the K-12 English/Language Arts Curriculum Coordinator for Hays ISD.

Each of these women are tops in their field and articulate about their love for stu-dents and for Christ. Come join the conversation this Wednesday, April 20th, at 6:30p.m. by the fireplace at SHPC
