Personal: Born Dec. 28, 1991 ... Son of Mark and Desiree Jackson ... Has three younger siblings (Christian, Micah and Heavyn) ... Major is communication. His uncle Troy Jackson played basket-ball at UofL (1996-98). Personal goal at UofL is to graduate. Enjoys playing video games and minis-try in his spare time. Chose to attend UofL because “of the amazing facilities and fans, and because of a great coach in Coach Pitino.” Best basketball advice given to him was to “be the hardest worker on the court.”

Few people know that he’s a Christian youth minister. Most proud of my little brothers and sister. Jesus Christ has had the greatest influence on his

athletic career. Feels Denzel Washington would be the best actor to

play him in a movie. When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he

was Kobe Bryant. Wanted to wear No.13 because it was his father’s number. If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you

would notice is the big screen television. Would most like to meet TD Jakes.

Named the MVP of the White Team in the 2011 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic all-star game played in Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center after producing 16 points, five rebounds and two assists.

One of eight Notre Dame Prep players to sign with Division I schools in 2011, including two other BIG EAST players: Khem Birch of Pittsburgh and Todd Mayo of Marquette. Former UofL forward/center Terrence Jennings also played a season at Notre Dame Prep.

Played his first two seasons at Cardinal Hayes High School in Bronx, N.Y., before suiting up for the Winchendon School (Mass.) for his junior campaign.

Reminds UofL Coach Rick Pitino of former Cardinal All-American Francisco Garcia with his length and high arching shot like Garcia.

Attended the Winchendon School in 2009-10 and helped his team to a 30-10 record and the quarterfinals of the National Prep Championship. He participated in the 2010 Hoop Group Elite Camp in Reading, Pa., scoring 25 points in his final game.

Averaged 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game as a sophomore at Cardinal Hayes. Nunez scored 29 points in a 71-60 loss to Mount St. Michael and 24 (including 19 in the first half) in an 81-64 defeat against Bishop Ford that season.

of four siblings (Thamy, Jason, James) ... Major is communication.

Personal goal at UofL is to win a BIG EAST and national championship.

Enjoys watching plays on Broadway in his spare time. Chose to attend UofL because “it has everything I need

to become successful and to become the best person and player I can be.”

Few people know that he really likes dancing. Most proud that he was able to go to college on a

scholarship. Francisco Garcia has had the greatest influence on his

athletic career. Feels Will Smith would be the best actor to play him in

a movie. When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he

was Tracy McGrady. Wanted to wear No. 1 because “someone called

me Little Penny (Hardaway) when I was 10” (1 was Hardaway’s NBA uniform number).

If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you would notice is his big Francisco Garcia poster.

What impresses him the most about Coach Pitino: “what he has done with players like me in the past and he is a Hall of Fame coach.”

Would most like to meet Penny Hardaway.

LOUISVILLE BASKETBALL

The University of Louisville’s athletic symbol, chosen sometime after 1913, is a Cardinal.

The Cardinal bird was chosen to give UofL statewide identification, since the Cardinal is the state bird of Kentucky. The school colors — cardinal red and black — were adopted at the suggestion of Mrs. John L. Patterson. In printing terms, the UofL color for red is PMS 485. All of the University of Louisville’s present logos are trade marked.
